El MUSA alberga la colección más grande y MUSA Cali

diversa de piezas cerámicas precolombinas en
Colombia, las cuales se encuentran exhibidas
en sus sedes de Bogotá y Cali. Por el tamaño
de la colección, así como por su vasto rango
cultural, geográfico y cronológico, el museo es
considerado uno de los más importantes cus-
todios de la cultura material prehispánica del
país. También es un espacio vital que invita al
estudio, admiración y cuidado del patrimonio
cultural de los colombianos.
El Museo Arqueológico MUSA La Merced, fun-
dado en 1978, forma parte de los museos que
el Fondo de Promoción de la Cultura ha puesto
al servicio de la comunidad. Ocupa parte del
ex convento de La Merced, ubicado en la zona
histórica, bella joya arquitectónica colonial de
gran significación e importancia por ser ésta la
construcción más antigua de Santiago de Cali.

The MUSA houses the largest and most di-
verse collection of pre-Columbian ceramics
pieces in Colombia, which are exhibited at its
sites in Bogota and Cali. Because of the size
of the collection, as well as its vast cultural,
geographical and chronological scope, the mu-
seum is considered one of the most important
custodians of prehispanic material culture of
the country. It is also a vital space that invites
the study, admiration and care of the cultural
heritage of Colombians.
MUSA Cali
The Arqueological museum MUSA La Merced,
inaugurated in 1978, is one of the museums
that Fondo de Promoción de la cultura has put
on service for the community. It occupies part
of the former Convent of La merced, located in
the historical area of the city. A beautiful colo-
nial arquitecture jewel, of great significance for
being the oldest building of Santiago de Cali.
