Si bien ya hemos estudiado diferentes elementos ubicado en presente, debemos
considerar importante que sucede cuando estemos trabajando con acciones que se
realizan en el mismo instante:
Se forma con el:
VERBO TO BE + VERBO PRINCIPAL + ING

Se utiliza para expresar acciones que se están realizando en este momento, en el


momento en que estamos hablando, o periodos de tiempo que aún no han terminado
(TODAY, THIS WEEK). Va acompañado de expresiones de tiempo como NOW, AT THE
MOMENT, AT PRESENT.
ESTRUCTURAS:
ORACIONES AFIRMATIVAS:
SUJETO + VERBO TO BE+ VERBO ING + COMPLEMENTOS
Ex: I am learning English at the moment.
ORACIONES NEGATIVAS:
SUJETO + VERBO TO BE + NOT+ VERBO ING + COMPLEMENTOS
Ex: We are not learning Chinese this year.
ORACIONES INTERROGATIVAS:
(QUESTIONS WORDS) +VERBO TO BE+ SUJETO + VERBO ING + COMPLEMENTOS

 ING consideraciones importantes:


Verbos que acaban en E, Pierde la E y añadimos
Ex: ing: Make – Making
Verbos que acaban en IE se transforma en Y, añadimos ing
Ex: Die - Dying

Verbos de una sílaba formada por consonante vocal consonante: Doblan la última
consonante y añaden ing
Ex: Put – Putting
Verbos que acaban en –Y y –W: Mantienen Y y W y añaden ing:

 Ordering a meal
WAITER: Hello, I’ll be your waiter today. Can I start you off with something to drink?
RALPH: Yes. I’ll have iced tea, please.
ANNA: And I’ll have lemonade.
WAITER: OK. Are you ready to order, or do you need a few minutes?

RALPH: I think we’re ready. I’ll have the tomato soup to start, and the roast beef with
mashed potatoes and peas.
WAITER: How do you want the beef — rare, medium, or well done?
RALPH: Well done, please.
ANNA: And I’ll just have the fish, with potatoes and a salad.

 At the Doctor’s office


DOCTOR: What seems to be the problem?
CATHY: Well, I have a bad cough and a sore throat. I also have a headache.
DOCTOR: How long have you had these symptoms?
CATHY: About three days now. And I’m really tired, too.
DOCTOR: Hmm. It sounds like you’ve got the flu. Take aspirin every four hours and get
plenty of rest. Make sure you drink lots of fluids. Call me if you’re still sick next week.
CATHY: OK, thanks.
