On January 29, 1886, the German engineer Carl Benz patented his motorized tricycle. Being the
first vehicle to operate on the basis of internal combustion, it was considered the first automobile.
The invention consisted of three wheels and a gasoline drive.
Creator of the Automobile
Generally, the invention of the first car is attributed to a German named Karl Friedrich Benz, who
in 1886 invented the first three-wheeled car that worked by combustion of gasoline.
In 1860 Etienne Lenoir patented the first gasoline-powered internal combustion engine vehicle.
Evolution can be divided into a series of stages marked by the main technological milestones.
One of the most characteristic inventions of the 20th century has undoubtedly been the
automobile. The first prototypes were created at the end of the 19th century but it was not until
the first decade of the 20th century that the public began to look at them as useful. The
automobile goes through the three phases of the great means of propulsion: steam, electricity and
gasoline.
The first steam vehicle (1769) was the Fardier, created by Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot.
