RESUMEN ABSTRACT

 
    


 The main purpose of this article is to present theoretical

  
 
    
  
   
statements on the new concept of disability from the recognition of






  human rights, autonomy, integration, capacities and support,

 




 





 emphasizing in the interaction of the disabled person and its




 





 environment. On the other hand, some models of rehabilitation are


  described that have been used through time, being ineffective for

integral care of the disabled person. Finally, the ecological model

 

 
 
 is presented as an alternative to approach in an integral way,
