anterior. Escriba su respuesta frente a cada pregunta.
QUESTION ANSWER
Apropiación
Cognitiva:
● When did you meet your best friend? = ¿Cuándo conociste a tu mejor amigo/a?
❖ What DID you TALK about with him/her?
pasado. Entonces el verbo “TALK” queda normal)
❖ We TALKED about our English classes.

PRACTICE!
Use the prompts to write the questions about famous people from the past.
1. Shakespeare / write / Romeo and Juliet?
Did Shakespeare write Romeo and Juliet?
Find the mistakes in the sentences and rewrite the questions correctly.

¿verdad?
PRACTICE!
Complete the sentences with the Past simple form of the verbs in brackets.
Complete the sentences with the past simple form of the verbs in the box.
mismo, aunque debemos AGREGAR la negación “NOT” es decir que sería “DID NOT”
o “DIDN’T” si prefieres pegarlas. A esto se la llama “Contracción”.
PRACTICE!
COGNITIVE PRACTICE:
inglés, debemos usar el VERBO TO BE.
“NOT” después del VERBO TO BE EN PASADO SIMPLE. Así:
● Yo NO ERA cantante cuando YO ERA joven = I WAS NOT a singer when I WAS
young
● Tú NO ESTUVISTE en el concierto ayer = You WERE NOT at the concert
yesterday.
● Nosotros NO ESTUVIMOS presentes en la reunión = We WERE NOT present at
the meeting.
PRACTICE!
I ______ born in Tunja on 22nd June 1977, but my parents ______ Colombian. They ______ from
Venezuela. My mother’s name _____ Elizabeth and my father’s name _______ Jaime.
My mother ________ very old when I _______ born. She _______ 17 and my father ______ 19.
When I _______ 12 years old, we moved to Cartagena. It _____ lovely and hot there. We ______
a rich family, but we ________ happy.
❖ We WERE pilots in the air force of the USA = WERE we pilots in the air force of
the USA?
❖ They WERE the best gamers of the world = WERE they the best gamers of the
world?
READING!
It was a beautiful sunny morning in Mexico City. The date was October 10th, the year was 1593.
In the main square of the city, soldiers stood in front of the Royal Palace. The people of the city came and
went as usual. But there was something strange about one of the soldiers: he wore a different uniform from
the others. When the other soldiers saw him, they began asking him questions. “Who are you? Where are
you from?” one of the soldiers asked.
“I am a Spanish soldier,” he answered “and because the governor died last night, it is my job to stay in front
of the palace here.” “The governor?” one of the soldiers replied, “Which governor?” “The governor of
Manila, of course”.
The other soldiers told him he was in Mexico City - thousands of kilometers from the city of Manila. The
young soldier was amazed and had no idea how he came to be in a city so far from his home.
Nobody believed his strange story. In the end, they put the young man in prison, and left him there until
they decided what to do.
Two months later, a Spanish ship arrived from Manila. It brought news that the governor of Manila was
dead - and the time of his death was 10 p.m. on the evening of October 9th, 1593. Was the young man’s
story true?
Four hundred years later, no one knows how it was possible for a man to travel across the world in one
night … without knowing how or why.
Read the story and put the events in the correct order.
In Los Angeles.
In Texas.
