ARAUCANIDAD

As in the entire region of the Orinoquía, the song, music, dances, customs,
myths and legends are manifestations of cultural wealth. The joropo is the
genre that expresses the activities carried out by the llaneros inhabitants.
Coleo, a traditional festival throughout the department of arauca, is celebrated
between the months of August to December.

ARAUCA CELEBRATIONS

Arauca celebrates the Araucano de la Frontera Festival and the Joropo

International Tournament, the international coleus tournament and the
international beauty kingdom, where women from Colombia and Venezuela
participate. The festivities have their space of celebration from December 4 to 8,
and they have been celebrated since 1965.

The Arauca festivities began with the performance of Joropiando in Arauca and the

Serenade to Arauca, this December 4 is the Day of Araucanidad, it is a day of reunion

between Araucanos in Ciudad de Arauca avenue and at night it is the election and

coronation of Señorita Arauca, who will represent the city in the International Reign of

the Joropo, which takes place within the framework of the Araucano de la Frontera

Festival.

El joropo es el género que expresa las actividades que realizan los
habitantes llaneros. El coleo, fiesta tradicional en todo el departamento de
arauca, se celebra entre los meses de agosto a diciembre.

CELEBRACIONES ARAUCA

Arauca celebra el Festival Araucano de la Frontera y el Torneo

Internacional Joropo, el torneo internacional coleus y el reino internacional
de la belleza, donde participan mujeres de Colombia y Venezuela. Las
fiestas tienen su espacio de celebración del 4 al 8 de diciembre, y se
celebran desde 1965.

INFORMACIÓN

Las fiestas de Arauca se iniciaron con la realización de Joropiando en

Arauca y la Serenata a Arauca, este cuatro de diciembre es el Día de la
Araucanidad, es día de reencuentro entre araucanos en la avenidad Ciudad
de Arauca y en la noche es la elección y coronación de la Señorita Arauca,
que representará a la ciudad en el Reinado Internacional del Joropo, que se
realiza en el marco del Festival Araucano de la Frontera.
