3 PARTS INSPECTION
3.1 Back head
Check all Helicoil (A).
Check O’ring seat (B). Polish if
necessary.

paper.
3.2 Pressure regulator
Check the outside spool diameters (E).
Replace if too or deeply scratched.

3.3 Distribution
Check the outside distributor diameters
(G). Replace if too or deeply
scratched.
Check the inner diameters (H) of the
distribution box. Replace if too or
deeply scratched.
Check the distribution cover inner
surfaces (I). Replace if too or deeply
scratched.
Check the distribution cover inner
surfaces (J). Replace if too or deeply
scratched.
3 INSPECCIÓN DE LAS
PIEZAS
3.1 Cabeza trasera
--- Verifique todas las roscas

3.4 Piston and cylinder
Check the piston outside diameters (K).
If necessary, remove serious marks
only with fine hand stone or sand
paper. If marks are too deep, replace
the piston.
Check striking area (L). If cracked or
deformed, replace the piston.
Check the tool bushing wear.
When mounting on the excavator,
check operation pressure and
delivered flow.
Check the piston overall length (M).

Replace the piston when length is 458
mm (new 460 ± 0,5)
MONTABERT 140 / 150
Replace the piston when length is 456
mm (new 458 ± 0,5)
Check internal surface (N) in cylinder. If
necessary, remove serious marks only
with fine hand stone or sand paper. If
marks are too deep, replace the
cylinder.
Carefully clean all parts after
polishing.
3.5 Front guide
Check front guide is not cracked or
damaged.
Check cylinder seat (O) is not damaged.
If necessary, remove only the high
spot with fine hand stone or sand
paper.
Check front guide seats (P) and nut
seats (Q) are not damaged.
If necessary, remove only the high
spots.
3.4 Pistón y cilindro

4 REPAIRING

inflating screw (A).

plugs (B) to loosen and remove the
assembling screws (C).

--- Mount a new diaphragm (E).
--- Lubricate the diaphragm upper face

4 REPARACIÓN
4.1 Cámara de energía

Do not use “EM 10” grease for this
purpose.
--- Tighten the fixing bolts.
Respect the tightening sequence

screw is not tighten.
--- Mount the inflation tool with the pro-
vided screws (cover with threaded
holes) or with the flanges (cover with-
out threaded holes).
--- Make sure key (1) is well engaged on
the inflation screw head.
--- Progressively screw the fixing screws
(2) or the nuts (3) depending on the
mounting.

volver a inflar las cámaras de ener-
gía.
--- Verifique que el tornillo de inflado de la
cámara de energía no está apretado.
--- Monte la herramienta de inflado con
los tornillos suministrados (tapa con
orificios con rosca) o con los discos
(tapa sin orificios con rosca).
--- Asegúrese de que la llave (1) esté bien
acoplada en la cabeza del tornillo de
inflado.
--- Atornille progresivamente los tornillos

tion screw and fill up the energy cham-
ber.
--- After the pressure is stabilized, close
the inflation screw.
--- Shut the nitrogen bottle off and turn
the drain cock on (5) to relieve pres-
sure from the tool.
--- Remove the inflating tool.
--- Using the wrench (6) tighten the infla-
tion screw to 34 Nm (25 ft.lb).
--- Pour some oil in the inflation screw
housing to check the nitrogen is not
leaking.
HP = (35 bar).
--- Afloje la llave (1) para abrir el tornillo
de inflado y llenar la cámara de ener-

4.2 Tie rod replacement
--- Note : When replacing a broken tie
rod we recommend to replace also
the rod diametrically opposed.
--- Dismount the broken tie rod and the
rod diametrically opposed.
--- Grease tie rod threads with “EM 22”
grease or equivalent (grade NLGI 2,
base lithium). Fig A
--- Using a torque wrench, tighten the tie
rods to 500 Nm (370 ft.lb).
Use the special end piece for torque
wrench (item 100 page 35).

Using the handling screw rotate the

Tighten screw (A) to push the piston
back in the cylinder.

is compulsory :

as the front guide is immersed,

the breaker (mass excavation or
scaling in tunnel for example).
--- The breaker must be equipped with the
pressurization kit provided as an
option (refer to breaker manual
operation chapter 11 for part number).
--- Connect the breaker to the compressor
with an air hose of 1” ID.
--- The compressor must be sized to
deliver 0.6 m3 / min. (21 cfm) at 2 bar
+1 bar (30 + 15 psi) per each 10
meters of water height.
