Se usan can / can’t para pedir y dar permiso o expresar posibilidad. Es como
poder en español.

¿Los niños pueden ver la tele? = Can the children watch TV?
También se usan can / can’t para hablar de cosas que sabemos hacer. Este uso es
como saber en español.

En inglés la forma can / can’t es la misma para todas las personas – I, you, he, she,
it, we, etc.

Ten cuidado con la ortografía de la forma -ing. Acuérdate de duplicar la
consonante cuando el verbo termina en una vocal + una consonante.

Se usa be + verbo + -ing para formar el presente continuo. Este uso es similar a
estar + gerundio en español.
Estoy esperando a mi hermano. = I’m waiting for my brother.
Ana está estudiando para un examen = Ana’s studying for a test at the moment.

¿Qué estás haciendo? = What are you doing?

Recuerda que en inglés se usa el presente continuo donde en español
normalmente se usa el presente de indicativo.

En inglés there is / are son como hay en español. Se usa there is con sustantivos
en singular y there are con sustantivos en plural.
Hay un gimnasio en el hotel. = There’s (There is) a gym in the hotel.
Hay 70 habitaciones. = There are 70 rooms.
No hay sauna. = There isn’t a sauna.
No hay parking privado. = There isn’t a private car park.
Se pueden formar preguntas usando Is there…? o Are there…?
