“Will” or “Going to”

“Will” o “going to” se refieren a hechos futuros pero se usan

en contextos diferentes.

1.-Will es utilizado para expresar decisiones repentinas

(Sudden decisions) o espontáneas ( Spontaneous decisions)
a.- I don’t feel well right now. I’ll go to the doctor.
b.- I will not watch T.V tonight. I’ll study for the exam.

2.- Will se lo emplea también para comentar algo que

pensamos o creemos que ocurrirá en el futuro.
c.- By 2022 Astronauts will travel to Mars.
- In ten years’ time people will live under the sea.

3.- Going to se lo utiliza para expresar planes o hechos

contundentes a futuro.
d.- The technician is going to fix the air conditioning tomorrow.
4.- Going to también es utilizado para realizar predicciones
basadas en evidencias físicas o actuales. Predecimos algo
que estamos seguros que va a ocurrir.
e.- The sky is very black. It’s going to snow.
f.- It’s 8:30! You are going to miss your flight.
