2ND AND 3RD CONDITIONALS

EL SEGUNDO CONDICIONAL (TYPE 2 CONDITIONAL)

El segundo condicional se utiliza para describir situaciones menos probables.

Esta forma se puede utilizar de dos maneras distintas. Por un lado para hablar sobre cosas del futuro que
probablemente no ocurran. Por otro lado para hablar sobre cosas del presente que son imposibles. Se refiere
a un presente hipotético.

La fórmula es: if + past simple, … would + infinitive 

Ejemplo: If I got that job, I'd move to Toronto (Si consiguiera ese empleo, me mudaría a Toronto)

EL TERCER CONDICIONAL (TYPE 3 CONDITIONAL)

El tercer condicional se utiliza para referirse a una situación en el pasado que no ha ocurrido. En otras
palabras, habla de eventos imposibles, porque el pasado no se puede cambiar. Se refiere a un pasado
hipotético.

La fórmula para este condicional es: if + past perfect, … would + have + past participle

Ejemplo: If I had studied the right things, I would have passed that exam (“Si hubiera estudiado los
contenidos adecuados, habría aprobado ese examen”)… pero no estudié lo que tenía que estudiar, y
desaprobé.
