Abstract
This paper is based on the application of the control method known as electro-pneumatic cascade
in an industrial drilling process in order to automatize it obtaining as a result an efficient
operating system with electrical and pneumatic components, it also presents the representation of
the simulated CAD design through SolidWorks Motion in every phase of the process so that al
of them can be analyzed and compared its functioning through pneumatic simulation. The
process has several stages of operation as it consists of six single and double effect pistons,
known as actuators, their motion is analyzed through the phase-state scheme and piston
displacement in every stage. The purpose of this work is to provide a simple and efficient
automation solution applied to an industrial drilling process to improve its functioning and
develop better results from so on.
