PRESENTAN:
ABSTRACT
Objective To conduct a systematic review of the literature to identify the most common
causes of chronic and acute primary renal disease in domestic canines in Colombia in
the period of time between 2015 and 2019.
Materials and methods Studies were selected based on articles from scientific
journals, conducted and published during the years 2015 and 2019 on the most
common causes of chronic and acute primary renal disease in domestic canines.
Within the exclusion criteria, we take into account chronic primary and secondary renal
disease and how it occurs, associated pathologies, IRC and IRA recurrence mayor,
kidney disease in domestic canines, articles in English and Spanish and IRC and IRA
etiologic agents.
Results 295 articles were found; remaining 25 articles screened, of which 6 are
excluded for not complying with the inclusion and exclusion criteria, for a final result of
16 articles in total which determine the most frequent causes of renal failure in
domestic canines to know the statistics prevalence and cause of the disease in these
animals, in addition to knowing the signs and symptoms of this disease
Conclusions The determined systematic review will determine the most common
causes of the presentation of acute and chronic kidney disease in domestic canines in
Colombia. In addition, it is defined as a deficiency in the normal functioning of the renal
system, caused by alterations in its components (vessels, tubules, glomeruli and
interstitium) that can compromise one or both kidneys; This syndrome can be
progressive (ARI) or irreversible (IRC) and is associated with the inability to regulate
water, electrolyte and basic acid balances, as well as the retention of metabolic toxins
in blood plasma, causing azotemia in the individual.
Key words: Renal diseases, risk and prevention, autoimmune disease, antibody,
hypertension, parotid hormone, osteoblasts, progressive antibody.
