Tono

El tono, en la composición escrita, es

una actitud de un escritor hacia un
tema o una audiencia.
Tone, in written composition, is an attitude of a writer toward

a subject or an audience.

Como se usa?
Si siempre contamos las mismas historias, entonces la manera en la cual se cuenta
algo adquiere mucha importancia. Esta manera o forma de contar es lo que
denominamos el estilo narrativo. El estilo narrativo que adopta el narrador
reflejará la manera en la cual el narrador se siente hacia lo que cuenta. El tono
literario intenta describir esta emoción del narrador hacia aquello que cuenta. De
esto que el tono se exprese con un adjetivo que describe una emoción.

If we always tell the same stories, then the way in which

something is told becomes very important. This way or way
of telling is what is called the narrative style. The narrative
style adopted by the narrator will identify the way in which
the narrator feels towards what counts. The literary tone
tries to describe this emotion of the narrator towards what
counts. From this the tone is expressed with an adjective
that describes an emotion.

Example #1

Father: “We are going on a vacation.”

Son: “That’s great!!!”

– The tone of son’s response is very cheerful.

Example #2

Father: “We can’t go on vacation this summer.”

Son: “Yeah, great! That’s what I expected.”

– The son’s tone is sarcastic.

Example #3

“Yeah, your grades on this exam will be as good as the previous

exams.”
– The tone is pessimistic in this example.

Example #4

“Can someone tell me what the hell is going on here?”

– This has an aggressive tone.

Padre: "Nos vamos de vacaciones".
Hijo: "¡Eso es genial!"
- El tono de respuesta del hijo es muy
alegre.
Ejemplo # 2
Padre: "No podemos irnos de
vacaciones este verano".
Hijo: "Sí, genial! Eso es lo que esperaba
".
- El tono del hijo es sarcástico.
Ejemplo # 3
"Sí, tus calificaciones en este examen
serán tan buenas como en los
exámenes anteriores".
- El tono es pesimista en este ejemplo.
Ejemplo # 4
"¿Alguien puede decirme qué demonios
está pasando aquí?"
- Esto tiene un tono agresivo.
