History of Mesopotamia
Mesopotamia was one of the first river civilisations. Mesopotamia had many types of
population and some of them established great empires.

Sumer

The sumerians built the first city-estates and were independent one of each other.

Akkadian Empire

King Sargon conquered the Sumerian city-states and he found the Akkadian empire.

Babylonian Empire

The hegemony of Mesopotamia moved to Babylonia and the king Hammurabi established
the Babylonian empire.

Assyrian Empire

The Assyrians created a series of empires and the Assyrian Empire stretched from the
Mediterranean Sea to the Persian Gulf.

Neo-Babylonian Empire

A new Babylonian Empire was founded.

Persian dominance

The Persians conquered the region and Mesopotamian civilisation ended.
