Álvaro Torres

Cantante salvadoreño
Nació el 9 de abril de 1954 en el departamento de Usulután.

Creció en un barrio de San Salvador y en el entonces semiurbano

cantón San Luis Mariona, de la populosa ciudad de Mexicanos, al
norte de la capital.

Hijo de José Germán Ibarra, un mariachi. Durante su infancia canta

mientras su madre trabaja cortando algodón

Grabó su primer disco en 1975. Se radicó en la República de

Guatemala, donde lanzó su primer álbum, posteriormente se estableció
en Denver, Colorado, y después en Los Angeles, California.

Reconocido artista por sus temas "El último romántico'', "De punta a punta'' y ''Acaríciame'', entre otros.

Recibió el título de Compositor del Año, que le otorgó BMI en 1994, y múltiples discos de oro y de platino por
sus ventas en todo el continente.

Desde 1991, con la difusión de su tema "Mi Verdadero Amor", la Isla del Encanto lo acogió como su favorito
abriéndole las puertas del Centro de Bellas Artes y otros escenarios donde dejó su emocional mensaje de
canciones románticas.

Escribe a partir de cualquier experiencia, en aviones y hoteles. Además de "En Busca del Amor", sus otros
discos con EMI Latín son "Si Estuvieras Conmigo", "Nada Se Compara Contigo", "Homenaje a México", "Amor
del Alma" y "Reencuentro".

Junto con este lanzamiento, Álvaro Torres también forma parte del disco olímpico "Voces Unidas", donde se
incluye su tema "Reencuentro", que interpreta con Barrio Boyzz. Además, Torres tiene el mérito de haber
lanzado al estrellato a la posteriormente asesinada cantante del género tejano, Selena.

Es padre de Astor Torres y Andrea Torres.
