SEBASTIÁN YATRA

Sebastián Yatra nació bajo el nombre de Sebastián Obando Giraldo, el 15 de octubre de 1994, en la ciudad de
Medellín, Colombia. Con tan sólo cinco años de edad se mudó con su familia a los Estados Unidos, lugar
donde comenzaría su carrera musical. A los 12 años empezó a escribir canciones y a cantarlas.

Durante su adolescencia, Sebastián Yatra tomó clases de piano, guitarra y técnica vocal, con la finalidad de
mejorar sus habilidades.

Sebastián Yatra sufrió una enfermedad que le afectaba a las cuerdas vocales, razón por la cual pensó que no
podría cumplir sus sueños. Su persistencia lo llevaría a obtener la tan anhelada fama y el reconocimiento
mundial.

La patología que presentaba Yatra eran unos nódulos, pero con el tratamiento médico pudo superar esta dura
etapa de su vida.

El cantante reveló durante una entrevista televisiva que su familia se mudó a los Estados Unidos debido a la
imperante violencia que se vivía en la nación neogranadina. Un familiar suyo fue secuestrado a mediados de
los años 90 y nunca se conoció su paradero.

En el año 2013, Sebastián Yatra decidió lanzar su carera musical formalmente. El primer sencillo que sacó al
mercado fue El Psicólogo, con el cual tuvo éxito en países como Estados Unidos, Venezuela, Colombia y
Ecuador.

El Psicólogo es un tema que mezcla el pop con el reggae, con el cual logró algo de notoriedad dentro del
público latino.

Al año siguiente, Sebastián Yatra publicó su segundo sencillo titulado Para Olvidar, el cual se posicionó
rápidamente en todas las emisoras de su país natal.

En el 2015 llegaría su gran éxito: la canción Cómo Mirarte, una balada que cautivó al público femenino. El
tema se posicionó en el puesto número 2 del Top Nacional Latino.

El artista colombiano logró varias nominaciones a premios como Los HEAT del año 2016, en donde se ganó
la primera estatuilla de su carrera.

Desde ese momento, la carrera musical de Sebastián Yatra comenzó a ser imparable. En julio del año 2016
sacó al mercado su sencillo Traicionera, el cual fue un rotundo éxito. La canción obtuvo el primer puesto en
las emisoras de países como Estados Unidos, Colombia, España, Portugal, Venezuela, entre otros.

Sebastián Yatra cumplió uno de los sueños más grandes de los artistas de habla hispana: ser nominado a un
Latin Grammy.

El intérprete colombiano fue postulado a estos premios en la categoría de Mejor Nuevo Artista y Mejor Álbum
Vocal Pop por Extended Play Yatra.

Durante su carrera, ha sido merecedor de 23 sencillos de platino y 2 de oro por sus grandes ventas a través
de plataformas digitales en naciones como Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, España, México, Estados Unidos, Perú y
Argentina.

El 23 de abril de 2019, Sebastián Yatra se unió a Nicky Jam y Luis Fonsi para estrenar su nuevo hit, Date La
Vuelta.

Sebastián Yatra was born under the name of Sebastián Obando
Giraldo, on October 15, 1994, in the city of Medellín, Colombia.
When he was only five years old, he moved with his family to the
United States, where his musical career would begin. At age 12, he
started writing songs and singing them.

During his adolescence, Sebastián Yatra took piano, guitar and vocal
technique classes, in order to improve his skills.

Sebastián Yatra suffered a disease that affected his vocal cords,

which is why he thought he could not fulfill his dreams. His
persistence would lead him to obtain the long-awaited fame and
world recognition.

The pathology presented by Yatra was nodules, but with medical treatment he was able to overcome this hard
stage of his life.

The singer revealed during a television interview that his family moved to the United States due to the
prevailing violence that was lived in the New Granada nation. A family member was kidnapped in the mid-90s
and his whereabouts were never known.

In 2013, Sebastián Yatra decided to launch his musical career formally. The first single that he released to the
market was El Psicólogo, with which he was successful in countries such as the United States, Venezuela,
Colombia and Ecuador.

The Psychologist is an issue that mixes pop with reggae, with which he achieved some notoriety within the
Latin audience.

The following year, Sebastián Yatra published his second single entitled Para Olvidar, which quickly positioned
himself on all stations in his native country.

In 2015 his great success would come: the song Como Mirarte, a ballad that captivated the female audience.
The issue was ranked number 2 of the Top Latino National.

The Colombian artist won several nominations for awards such as The HEAT of the year 2016, where he won
the first statuette of his career.

From that moment, the musical career of Sebastián Yatra began to be unstoppable. In July of 2016 he released
his simple Traicionera, which was a resounding success. The song obtained the first position in the transmitters
of countries like the United States, Colombia, Spain, Portugal, Venezuela, among others.

Sebastián Yatra fulfilled one of the greatest dreams of Spanish-speaking artists: to be nominated for a Latin
Grammy.

The Colombian interpreter was nominated for these awards in the category of Best New Artist and Best Pop
Vocal Album by Extended Play Yatra.

During his career, he has been awarded 23 platinum singles and 2 gold singles for his great sales through digital
platforms in nations such as Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, the United States, Peru and Argentina.

On April 23, 2019, Sebastián Yatra joined Nicky Jam and Luis Fonsi to release their new hit, Date La Vuelta.
