I. READ THE TEXT CAREFULLY


Today, millions of people want to learn or improve their English but it is difficult to find the
best method. Is it better to study in Britain or America or you study in your own country?
The advantages of going to Britain seems obvious. Firstly, you´ll be able to listen to the
language all the time you are in the country. You will be surrounded completely by the
language wherever you go. Another advantage is that you have to speak the language if
you are with other people. In Italy, it is always possible, in the class, to speak Italian if you
want to and the learning is slower.
On the other hand, there are also advantages to staying at home to study. You don´t have
to make big changes to your life. As well as this, it´s also a lot cheaper than going to Britain
but it’s never possible to achieve the results of living in the UK. If you have a good teacher
in Italy, I think you can learn in a more concentrated way that being in Britain without going
to school.
So, in conclusion, I think that if you have enough time and enough money, the best choice
is to spend some time in the UK, this is simply not possible for most people, so being here
in Italy is the only viable option. The most important thing to do in this situation in to
maximize your opportunities: To speak only English in class and to try to use English
whenever possible outside the class.

II. Write a text about: You have to write what ABILITIES you can see for each
person in each profession or occupation and write the kind of clothes the
people wear (formal or informal) you want. You have to use only the
vocabulary that you have present do in this cycle. Considered two people.
Use zero and first conditional you’ve learnt. Apply the Present simple and
Future simple tense, too (04 pts.)

I think that a lawyer should have certain abilities like intelligent, punctual, orderly,
convincing and good speaker. Also, the kind of clothes of a lawyer should be formal, so a
lawyer has to wear a suit. I admire them because they read a lot. If I decide to be a lawyer, I
will buy a suit.

On the other hand, I think that a fireman has other abilities like courage, dedication and
serenity. A fireman should use a special clothing that serves as protection in a fire. I
appreciate them for their great work. If the government helps to the firefighters, They will be
more.

III. Write four sentences about what was happening to you yesterday from 8:00
a.m and 20:00 p.m: use the passive past simple tense and passive past
perfect simple voices. (04 pts.)

Yesterday, the breakfast was made by me. Then I went to visit my friend, where I could
read a book, which had been written by him. When I returned to my home, my windows
had been broken by my sister. Finally, the dinner was paid for my father.

IV. Make a collage and write a paragraph about any special childhood experience
using mainly tenses you´ve learn in this cycle. They could be: simple past
active and passive voice or future simple active and passive voice (04 pts.)

In my childhood, a book was written by me. This book was called “How can we protect our
environment?”. My school realized a contest, so I decided to write this book.

All my classmates participated in this contest, but I could win the contest. My teacher liked my
book and several actions were made by us. So, my teacher and me will realize a new contest.

V. Write the sentences and make with zero and first conditional in each
exercise. Follow the example (04 points)
