La Ruta de la Seda se refiere a la
antigua ruta comercial entre Asia
Central y China. Originalmente, los
chinos negocian internamente dentro de
la seda del imperio. Las caravanas del
interior del imperio llevaría a la seda a
los bordes occidentales de la región.
Ellos fueron atacados a menudo por
pequeñas tribus de Asia Central que
querían robar las mercancías de los
comerciantes de valor. Según la
tradición china, la historia de la seda
empieza en el siglo XXVII a. C.
Prosigue durante tres milenios de
exclusividad durante los que China
exporta este tejido precioso sin revelar
jamás el secreto de su fabricación. Para
este recorrido, en la película “La Ruta
de la Seda”, zarparon del puerto de
Siraf, para luego recorrer y llegar a islas
Malvinas para obtener comida y agua, y
luego siguen su recorrido hasta llegar a
una isla en donde habitaba una tribu
armada la cual quería robarles. El
embalaje que se usaba en esos tiempos
para el transporte de mercancía eran
cajas de maderas, para las telas que
llevaban, las cuales eran el método más
seguro para la mercancía. El envase
que se usaba para la comida y aceites
era de plástico. El medio de transporte
utilizado fueron dos grandes barcos de
madera los cuales se transportaba tanto
la caravana como también la mercancía
que Iban a comerciar al llegar a su
destino. Estos barcos, por ser de
madera, tenían que tener un peso
equilibrado y tenían la desventaja que
se podían hundir muy fácilmente. En la
película, el capitán mando a tirar al mar
varias mercancías porque el barco
estaba en una velocidad lenta y eso se
debía al peso de la mercancía.
The Silk Road refers to the old trade
route between Central Asia and China.
Originally, the Chinese trade internally
within the silk of the empire. The
empire’s caravans of the interior would
take the silk to the western edges of the
region. They were often attacked by
small tribes of Central Asia who wanted
to steal the merchants' valuable goods.
According to Chinese tradition, the
history of silk begins in the XXVII
century b.C. It continues for three
millennia of exclusivity during which
China exports this precious fabric
without ever revealing the secret of its
manufacture. For this journey, in the film
"The Maritime Silk Road", set sail from
the port of Siraf, then traveled and
reached the Malvinas Islands to obtain
food and water, and then continue their
journey to an island where an armed
tribe who wanted to rob them habited.
The packing that was used in those
times to transport merchandise were
wooden boxes for the fabrics they
carried, which were the safest method
for it. The container used for food and
oils was plastic. The means of transport
used were two large wooden ships
which transported both the caravan and
the merchandise that they were to trade
when arriving at their destination. These
boats, being wooden, had to have a
balanced weight and had the
disadvantage that they’d sink very
easily. In the film, the captain ordered to
throw to the sea several merchandise
because the ship was in a slowing due
to the weight of the merchandise.
Muchas similitudes se pudieron apreciar
durante la proyección de ambas
películas, como la constante
preocupación y ataques de piratas que
buscaban adueñarse de la mercadería
de ambos barcos y la manera en que se
medía la velocidad (por medio de soga
con nudos). Pero lo más interesante era
poder comparar las diferencias por ser
diferentes tiempos, y ver como había
evolucionada el mundo marítimo acorde
a lo que se refiere el manejo de los
artículos, embalaje, cuidado y demás.
Sobre todo, apreciar como los marinos
de la Ruta de la Seda trabajaban de
cierta manera que en esta época se
puede describir como obsoleta, pero por
ser obsoleta para nosotros también
hubiera sido una situación bastante
inconforme y dificultosa para ellos, de
estar vivos en estos tiempos con los
conocimientos y habilidades de aquella
era si tuviesen que operar con la
tecnología que tenemos nosotros ahora.
Como se transformaron barcos de
madera a los gigantescos busques de
acero y mercancía automatizada y
perfectamente embalada en
contenedores, barcos que pueden
navegar y atravesar tormentas sin casi
ningún problema. Sin olvidar mencionar
que tomaba mucho valor para los
marinos viajar por tramos sumamente
peligrosos, arriesgar su vida para la
sencilla y a la vez ardua labor de
transportar mercancía, que llegará a su
puerto de destino sin defecto alguno y
evitar que fueran amordazados,
matados, robados en el intento. El
miedo rotundo que brinda el mar sin
saber que se esconde, o quienes
espera allá afuera, en la tarea de
abastecer a pueblos y comercializar
productos como una humilde forma de
vida.
Many similarities could be seen during
the projection of both films, as the
constant preoccupation and attacks of
pirates that wanted to take possession
of the merchandise of both boats and
the way in which the speed was
measured (by rope with knots). But the
most interesting thing was comparing
the differences for being different times,
and to see how the maritime world had
evolved according to the handling of
articles, packaging, care and so on.
Above all, to appreciate how the sailors
of the Silk Road worked in a certain way
that at this time can be described as
obsolete, but to be obsolete for us
would’ve also been a rather
uncomfortable and difficult situation for
them, to be alive in these times with the
knowledge and skills of that era, if they
had to operate with the technology that
we have now. How wooden ships were
transformed into the gigantic Steel
vessels and automated and perfectly
packed merchandise in containers,
ships that can navigate and cross
storms with almost no problem. Not to
mention that it took courage for the
sailors to travel on extremely dangerous
routes, to risk their lives for the simple
and at the same time arduous work of
transporting merchandise, that had to
arrive at its port of destination without
any defect and to avoid that they were
muzzled, killed, stolen in the attempt.
The resounding fear that the sea offers
without knowing what it’s hiding, or
outside, in the task of supplying people
and marketing products as a humble
way of life.
