Mediacin Educativa y Violencia.

Transformando el conflicto

La propuesta es trabajar en las escuelas a fin de proporcionarles una nueva tcnica para la resolucin de
conflictos como la Mediacin educativa. La violencia

instalada en la sociedad muestra como

vctimas/victimarios incluso a nios de muy corta edad. En las ltimas tres dcadas, casi todos los pases de
Amrica Latina han sufrido dramticas transformaciones en sus estructuras econmicas y sociales. La gran
mayora de ellos han estado sometidos a profundos procesos de reforma poltica, dirigidos a la reduccin del
gasto pblico y social y a la redefinicin de las modalidades de intervencin del Estado en materia
econmica, social y educativa. De esta manera, muchos de los Estados transformaron su papel de garantes y
promotores de los derechos sociales, entre ellos el derecho a la educacin, para ejercer un rol meramente
subsidiario atravesado por las lgicas de mercado. Durante este perodo tambin se combati la solidaridad y
la construccin de consenso, las redes sociales, y se dio paso al individualismo.
Luego con los aos 90 se produjo el cambio de paradigmas, para darnos como resultado la actual crisis que
atravesamos y ante la cual es inevitable adoptar nuevas propuestas.
Hoy somos una sociedad ms violenta, y ello es lo que transmitimos a los nios y adolescentes. Por ello no
nos debe sorprender la violencia en las instituciones educativas.
Aceptarlo sin proponer acciones, implica claudicar de los medios y fines humanos no violentos y retornar en
cambio a fuerzas impulsivas e irracionales. La violencia es la accin radicalmente opuesta al respeto del ser
humano en sentido amplio. La propuesta es educar para construir una sociedad que sea cada vez ms
tolerante y solidaria. Ms justa, respetuosa de la diversidad ms igualitaria. El autodominio y la autonoma
moral del ser humano no puede ser producto de la violencia sino de una genuina prctica de pacificacin.
Para lograrlo se requiere el aprendizaje por parte de los diferentes actores institucionales del desarrollo de
habilidades sociales o lo que Organizacin Mundial de la Salud denomina "habilidades para la vida".
La experiencia demuestra que en aquellas comunidades, donde se implementaron no slo proyectos de
aplicacin de mtodos de resolucin de conflictos, Negociacin colaborativa, Mediacin, orientados a nios y
jvenes, sino diferentes metodologas de prevencin, comenzaron a disminuir los hechos de agresin y
muestras de violencia y aument el compromiso y la participacin de la comunidad toda. La escuela se
muestra como protagonista en la bsqueda de nuevos caminos adecuados para el logro de una convivencia
escolar que descarte la violencia y que es ms auspiciosa, cuanto ms tempranamente se inicie la
transversalizacin de los conceptos de cooperacin, solidaridad, aprecio por la diversidad y respeto por los
derechos humanos.
El mbito escolar, la familia y la comunidad deben ser el marco donde los jvenes se preparen para la
participacin responsable en la creacin de una sociedad sin violencia basada en el respeto por las diferencias
y

los derechos humanos y en la conviccin de apoyar la solucin pacfica de los enfrentamientos

interpersonales aplicando mtodos alternativos de resolucin de conflictos.

La violencia alcanz las escuelas.
Se puede prevenir? Qu se debe hacer para lograrlo? Cmo se puede alcanzar una convivencia basada en
el respeto y la tolerancia?
Las escuelas son vitales para aprender a establecer vnculos respetuosos del prjimo, permiten detectar,
contener, encauzar a tiempo hbitos y conductas que la prevengan.
Los mediadores especializados abogamos por actividades, tcnicas concretas para el manejo constructivo del
conflicto, entre ellas la mediacin escolar.

Educational mediation and violence.

Transforming the conflict. An exit to the school violence.

The proposal is to work in the schools in order to provide them a new technique for the resolution of conflicts
like the educational Mediation. The violence installed in the society shows as included vctim/victimize to
children of very short age. In the last three decades, almost all the countries of Latin America have suffered
dramatic transformations in their economic and social structures. They were subjected to deep processes of
reformation politics, directed to the reduction of the public and social expense and to the redefinition of the
intervention modalities of the State in economic, social and educational matter. Many of the States
transformed their paper of guarantors and promoters of the social rights, among them the right to the
education, to exercise a merely subsidiary list crossed by the market logics. During this period also solidarity
was fought, and the consent construction, the social nets, and it was opened the way to the individualism.
Then with the years 90 the change of paradigms took place, to give us as a result the current crisis that we
cross and before which is unavoidable to adopt new proposals.
Today we are a more violent society, and it is it what we transmit to the children and adolescents. For it
should not surprise us to it the violence in the educational institutions.
To accept it without proposing actions, it implies to not abandon of the means and human ends violent and to
return on the other hand to impulsive and irrational forces. The violence is the radically opposed action to the
human being's respect in wide sense. The proposal is to educate to build a society that is more and more
tolerant and solidary.
Fairrer, respectful of the most equitable diversity. The self-control and the human being's moral autonomy
cannot be product of the violence but of a genuine practice of pacification. To achieve it the learning it is
required on the part of the different institutional actors of the development of social abilities or what World
Organization of the Health denominates "abilities for the life."
The experience demonstrates that in those communities, where they were not only implemented projects of
application of methods of resolution of conflicts, collaborative Negotiation, Mediation, guided children and
young, but different methodologies of prevention, they began to diminish the aggression facts and samples of

violence and it increased the commitment and the participation of the community . The school is shown as
main character in the search of new appropriate roads for the achievement of a school coexistence that
discards the violence and that it is more auspicious, if it is introduced in early form and traverse the
cooperation concepts, solidarity, appreciation for the diversity and respect for the human rights.
The school environment, the family and the community should be the mark where the youths get ready for
the responsible participation in the creation of a society without violence based on the respect by the
differences and the human.

The violence reached the schools.

Can you prevent? What should it be made to achieve it? How can you reach a coexistence based on the
respect and the tolerance?
The schools are vital to learn, to establish bonds of the fellow, allow to in time detect, to contain, to channel
habits and behaviors that prevent it.
Specialized mediators plead for activities, concrete techniques for the constructive handling of the conflict,
among them the school mediation.
