“En toda tranquilidad”

Alejandro Valverde se clasificó el 119° en la tercera etapa de la Vuelta a

España, que se disputó hoy entre Zutphen y Venlo, siempre en los Países
Bajos, sobre un recorrido de 189,7 kilómetros.
Alejandro sigue a 18 segundos de Fabian Cancellara en la clasificación
general, ahora en duodécima posición.
“A parte el hecho de que había vuelto el sol, la etapa de hoy no
tenía nada que ver con la de ayer. Podemos decir que ha sido un
día tranquilo.”
“Las carreteras eran más anchas y no había tanto peligro. A
pesar de eso, preferí recorrer la mayor parte de la etapa a la
cabeza del pelotón y seguir allí bien centrado, tal como lo hizo
ayer.”
“Me aparté en los últimos kilómetros para dejar espacio a los
velocistas.”
“Después de tres días sin subir ni una cota, le etapa de mañana
será algo diferente. También si es verdad que acaba en Lieja, el
final de etapa no tiene nada que ver con la clásica. Creo que más
bien se aparentará un poco a la Amstel, ya que nos tocará pasar
por el alto del Cauberg. Eso significa que tendremos un día más
que ir con mucho cuidado por las carreteras estrechas que bien
conocemos.”
 “A quiet day”

Alejandro Valverde took place 119 in the third stage of the Tour of Spain,
which took place today between Zutphen and Venlo, still in the
Netherlands, on a 189, 7 kilometers.
Alejandro is still 18 behind Fabian Cancellara in the general classification,
now the 12th overall.
“Except the fact that the sun kept on shining the entire day, the
stage of today had nothing to do with the one of yesterday. We
can indeed say that it was an easy day.”
“The roads were broader ones and not so risky. But I anyway
preferred to stay during almost all the time between the first
positions of the bunch to remain concentrated, exactly the way I
did it yesterday.”
“I just dropped in the very last kilometers to give the sprinters
space.”
“After three days without climbing not even a small hill, the
stage of tomorrow will be a little bit different. Even if it is true
that the stage will finish in Liège, the final of the stage will have
absolutely nothing to do with the classics. It will just look a little
bit like the Amstel, if we take into account the fact that the
Cauberg is on the program. This means that we will again have
to ride on narrow streets and that it will be important to remain
careful till the end.”
