3. Descripcindelaasignatura

3.1.Presentacin
Esta asignatura trata del uso del ingls en un entorno de ingeniera. Est diseada para mejorar las habilidades de comunicacin y conocimiento del lenguaje especializado de los estudiantes de ingeniera. Con un nfasis especial en vocabulario tcnico y habilidades del lenguaje como la comprensin oral y escrita, cubre temas comunes a diferentes campos de la ingeniera, tales como las propiedades de materiales, los casos de problemsolving, el dibujo tcnico o las tcnicas de fabricacin. Tambin se incluyen actividades reales basadas en contextos cotidianos de ingeniera, ascomovariadasocasionesparaelautoaprendizaje.

La asignatura seincluyeen los descriptores del ingls profesional yacadmico(IPA)oingls para fines especficos (IFE), especialmente diseados para perfiles profesionales determinados(enestecaso,deingeniera).

3.4.Relacinconotrasasignaturas.Prerrequisitosyrecomendaciones
La asignatura est diseada para favorecer la transicin del nivel B1 al B2 del European Language Passport, as que se presupone un nivel mnimo de B1. Aquellos que no posean los conocimientos mnimos requeridos tendrn que procurrselos por su cuenta.

Dominar las principales funciones lingsticas del lenguaje en contextos tcnicos: describir, comparar, explicar procesos y funcionamientos, resolver problemas, ilustrar, categorizar, medir,interpretar. Conocer y usar con correccin las expresiones con las que se realizan las funciones antedichas: conectores, comparativos, relativos, verbos de accin, preposiciones, unidades demedida,adverbiosdematizacin,etc.

Que el alumno se haya familiarizado con el vocabulario tcnico de su especialidad; que conozca y use con relativa facilidad las funciones del lenguaje asociadas al contexto tcnico y profesional de su especialidad; que sea capaz de trabajar tanto en grupo como de forma autnoma,auxiliadoporherramientasdeautoaprendizaje.
