A ten-point exercise
Cuando queremos indicar de cuántas partes está
compuesto algo, el número antecede a la parte
(el componente) que, a su vez, antecede al todo
(el sustantivo principal). Como el componente
(por ejemplo "point" en el título) se está
comportando como adjetivo NO LO
PLURALIZAMOS.

Viajé en un tren de seis vagones. I travelled in a six-carriage train.

Ella recibió de él una carta de ocho

She received an eight-page letter from him.
páginas.

Mañana tengo que hacer un examen de

I have to sit a three-hour exam tomorrow.
tres horas.

Estoy reventado después de un vuelo de

I'm knackered after a seven-hour flight.
siete horas.

La lucha por el poder en Europa terminó The struggle for power in Europe ended
en un conflicto mundial de seis años. in a six-year world conflict.

No cedas a la tentación. Por muy elevado que sea el número, el primer sustantivo no lleva
"s". El segundo, siendo el sustantivo principal, sí puede ir en plural.

El rugby se juega entre dos equipos de Rugby is played between two fifteen-player
15 jugadores. teams.

La semana que viene tenemos que ir a Next week we have to go to Lyon for a three-
