Cómo expresar frecuencia

• Expresamos frecuencia para responder a la

siguiente pregunta:
How often do you…?
(¿Con qué frecuencia tú…?)
Ejemplos:

• How often do you read a book?

(¿Con qué frecuencia lees un libro?)
• How often do you go to the cinema?
(¿Con qué frecuencia vas al cine?)
Para expresar frecuencia,
podemos utilizar:
• ADVERBIOS DE FRECUENCIA

• EXPRESIONES DE FRECUENCIA

* ACOMPAÑAN A ORACIONES CUYOS

VERBOS ESTÁN EN PRESENTE SIMPLE.
 ADVERBIOS DE FRECUENCIA
SE SITUAN DELANTE DEL VERBO PRINCIPAL
(casi todos los verbos)

SE SITUAN DETRÁS DEL VERBO SER/ESTAR

She is always late

 ADVERBIOS DE FRECUENCIA

ALWAYS (siempre)
USUALLY (normalmente)
OFTEN (a menudo)
SOMETIMES (a veces)
OCCASIONALLY (ocasionalmente)
HARDLY EVER (casi nunca)
NEVER (nunca)
 Ejemplos:
• I always have coffee for breakfast
• I usually have toast and butter
• I often go out in the evenings
• I sometimes go to the cinema
• I occasionally travel abroad
• I hardly ever eat fish
• I never play golf
• Si la oración está en negativo, igualmente, el
adverbio de frecuencia se sitúa delante del
verbo principal.
I don’t always play football.

• También si la oración es interrogativa, el

adverbio de frecuencia se sitúa delante del
verbo principal.
Does she always have breakfast at 7?
 EXPRESIONES DE FRECUENCIA

Normalmente se colocan al final de la oración.

I go to the supermarket every week

A veces se pueden colocar delante de la

oración.
Once a month, I go to the disco.
