 INTRODUCCIÓN
■ El concepto de un Trastorno de Procesamiento Auditivo Central (TPAC) ha existido
durante décadas. Myklebust (1954) definió por primera vez la TPAC como un trastorno
de la percepción auditiva a pesar de los umbrales audiométricos normales.
■ En la década de 1970, se desarrollaron pruebas de comportamiento del procesamiento
auditivo y se establecieron valores normativos basados ​en el desempeño de individuos
con lesiones corticales conocidas.

Procesar sonido en información significativa que el

cerebro puede entender y utilizar como un “mensaje”,
conocido como audición central.
