 ¿Qué es un mercado de divisa?
Los mercados de divisas son aquellos en
los que se compran y venden monedas
de distintos países. También conocido
como Foreign Exchange o FX, el de
divisas es un mercado fundamentalmente
no organizado, denominado en inglés
‘Over The Counter‘ (OTC). Hoy en día es
el mercado financiero más grande del
mundo. Aglutina un volumen medio diario
negociado en torno a los 5 billones de
dólares. Además, con una importante y
creciente “electronificación”
 ¿Qué es una divisa?
Una divisa es dinero extranjero y las transacciones entre
monedas de distintos países se realizan en el mercado de
cambios o de divisas.
 ¿Tipos de cambio?
 Cambios fijos: Hablamos de tipo de cambio fijo cuando el
banco central de un país establece el valor de su moneda
nacional con respecto a la divisa de otro país.
 Cambio flotante: En el tipo de cambio flotante la tasa de
cambio depende de la oferta y la demanda que se de en cada
momento en el mercado de divisas o FOREX.
Cambio nominal o real: Tienen dos tipos de clasificaciones :
 Tipo de cambio real: el tipo de cambio real de una divisa se
refiere al poder adquisitivo de esa misma divisa en función de
los precios del país de otra divisa.
 Tipo de cambio nominal: el tipo de cambio nominal hace
referencia a la cotización oficial de un tipo de cambio en el
mercado de divisas.
