PASADO PERFECTO SIMPLE

AFIRMATIVA: SUJETO + HAD + VERB. P (PARTICIPIO) + COMPLEMENTOS

• Tom had gone home when I arrived at the party.

NEGATIVA: SUJETO + HADN’T + VERB. P (PARTICIPIO) + COMPLEMENTOS

• It hadn’t rained for the last month.

INTERROGATIVA: (WH) HAD + SUJETO + VERB. P (PARTICIPIO) + COMPLEMENTOS?

• Had you cooked something special for me?

USOS:
• Para expresar una acción pasada anterior a un momento dado del pasado o a otra acción también
pasada.
En este sentido siempre se combina con un PASADO SIMPLE.
He had already cooked the dinner when she arrived.
When we got to the cinema the movie had already started.

• Oraciones condicionales de tipo III, que expresan acciones que no han llegado a producirse.
If her father hadn’t bought her a new toy, Jenny would have finished her homework.

Marcadores temporales
Los marcadores que suelen aparecer en oraciones en Pasado Perfecto Simple en inglés son:
- already, just, never, yet, once, until that day
Los marcadores para el Pasado Perfecto son en parte los mismos que los para Presente Perfecto. Sin
embargo, existe una diferencia sustancial: cuando se usan en una oración construida con Pasado
Perfecto, hacen referencia al pasado y no al presente.
