DANIEL FLORES. Electromagnetic Engineer

Summary
Expert Electromagnetic Engineer over 15 years on RF/MW EM measurements, with emphasis on EM Characterization of
Materials, RF antenna and Microwave devices development. Interested in working in a dynamic environment that
capitalizes on my experience as head of an Applied EM Laboratory, an environment of low resources and high challenges
that generated great hard and soft skills in this field, resulting in a high capacity to complete high quality, punctual projects.
Core Competencies
Microwave/RF Measurements: Electromagnetic Characterization of Materials with Waveguided, Resonant cavity and
Antenna methods using ISO 17025 std. Field EM measurements such as spectrometry, interference hunting among others
Electromagnetic Engineering: Antenna analysis and design for specific applications, Microwave device developing such
as TEM cell, Passive filters, among others. EM events Forensic Engineering, Shielded environments design, among others.
Simulations: FEM simulation with COMSOL, MATLAB, CST STUDIO, among others.
Data Analysis: Proficient in interpreting complex data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
Proactive Problem Solver: Anticipating and addressing challenges to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
Collaboration and Communication: A proven team player with strong communication skills to effectively convey findings
and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Expert Technical Drawing: Highly proficient in creating detailed electrical drawings, diagrams, and schematics to
engineering standards using CAD software for electrical systems design and documentation.

Accomplishment Highlights
• Determined root cause of cattle deaths in Chevron and PDVSA's Boscan field by simulating electric potential
distribution in soil. Implemented effective mitigation strategies for animal safety.
• I led the development of a TEM cell for the pre-certification of electronic equipment up to 3 GHz, which was
subsequently certified by the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory at the Institute of Engineering, meeting IEC
61000 standards. This significant achievement earned the "Regional Sections Prize of Research IEEE 2010."
• I characterized petroleum at 9.51 GHz to predict its behavior with radar-type instruments using microwave laboratory
equipment. This valuable research was awarded the "Regional Sections Prize of Research IEEE 2009."
• I provided expert EM systems advisory services to Venezuela's national metrology institute, SENCAMER, under a joint
research agreement with Simón Bolívar University. Led development efforts leveraging the University's state-of-the-
art RF test facilities including a fully anechoic chamber up to 43 GHz and semi-anechoic chamber up to 32 GHz.
