Hace más de dos mil años una mujer de la ciudad de Nazaret llamada María fue visitada por un
ángel llamado Gabriel quien le dijo a esta mujer judía que daría a luz a un hijo y que le pondría de
nombre Jesús pues sería el hijo de Dios. María era virgen y estaba por contraer matrimonio con un
hombre llamado José. Al ver que María estaba embarazada José confundido y algo dolido quiso
dejarla en secreto para que nadie fuera a lastimarla, pero el ángel Gabriel vino a José y le contó
exactamente lo que María ya le había dicho a José, que este bebé es hijo de Dios que será llamado
Jesús y que salvara a su gente de todo pecado.

Por causa de un edicto del rey para hacer un censo, María y José viajaron a la tierra de Belén para
cumplir con el edicto. Maria ya tenía muy avanzado su embarazo y aun asi viajaron por varios días
en un burro hasta llegar a su destino, pero no pudieron encontrar ni un solo lugar para poder pasar
la noche, pues todo estaba ya ocupado. Viendo que María estaba por dar a luz en cualquier
momento el dueño de una posada les ofreció quedarse en el establo.

María y José entraron en aquel establo en donde había animales y juntando paja hicieron un
pesebre para descansar al recién nacido niño Jesús.

Durante este tiempo un ángel se apareció a un grupo de pastores que apacentaban sus ovejas en
los campos cerca de Belén y les dijo que traía buenas nuevas pues el Mesias, el salvador del mundo
había nacido. Los pastores lo dejaron todo para ir en busca del bebé ya que el ángel les dijo que lo
encotrarían durmiendo en un pesebre.

Poco tiempo después los tres hombres sabios (también conocidos como los reyes magos) vieron la
brillante estrella en el cielo que se postraba justo arriba del establo en donde se encontraba el
recién nacido Jesús. Estos hombres venían del lejano oriente y durante su travesía el rey Herodes
de Judea les dijo que después de encontrar al bebé le dieran noticias en donde estaba. All arribar
al establo los hombres sabios adoraron al Dios viviente y le dieron regalos de incienso, oro y mirra.
Después regresaron a su tierra por otro camino pues sabían que el rey Herodes quería asesinar al
bebé que sería el futuro rey.

En los tiempos de hoy, celebramos el nacimiento de Jesús y su venida en la época de la navidad.

More than two thousand years ago, a woman from the city of Nazareth named Mary was visited by
an angel named Gabriel who told this Jewish woman that she would give birth to a son and that
she would name him Jesus because he would be the son of God. Mary was a virgin and was about
to marry a man named Joseph. When Joseph saw that Mary was pregnant, confused and
somewhat hurt, he wanted to leave her a secret so that no one would hurt her, but the angel
Gabriel came to Joseph and told him exactly what Mary had already told Joseph, that this baby is
the son of God. That he will be called Jesus and that he will save his people from all sin.
 Because of an edict from the king to take a census, Mary and Joseph traveled to the land of
Bethlehem to fulfill the edict. Maria was already very advanced in her pregnancy and they still
traveled for several days on a donkey until they reached their destination, but they could not find a
single place to spend the night, since everything was already occupied. Seeing that Mary was
about to give birth at any moment, the owner of an inn offered them to stay in the stable.

Mary and Joseph entered that stable where there were animals and gathering straw they made a
manger to rest the newborn baby Jesus.

During this time an angel appeared to a group of shepherds who were grazing their sheep in the
fields near Bethlehem and told them that he brought good news because the Messiah, the savior
of the world, had been born. The shepherds left everything to go in search of the baby since the
angel told them that they would find him sleeping in a manger.

A short time later the three wise men (also known as the wise men) saw the bright star in the sky
prostrated just above the stable where the newborn Jesus was. These men came from the Far East
and during their journey King Herod of Judea told them that after finding the baby they should tell
him where he was. Upon arriving at the stable, the wise men worshiped the living God and gave
him gifts of incense, gold and myrrh. Then they returned to their land by another route because
they knew that King Herod wanted to murder the baby who would be the future king.

In today’s times, we celebrate the birth of Jesus and his coming at Christmas time. You can read in
