ACTIVITIES
- El macho pesa 154 kg y mide alrededor de 2.5 metros.
- La hembra pesa 100 kg y mide 2 metros de largo.
- Los adultos pueden ser de color rosa o gris y los recién nacidos son
siempre grises.
- Carece de vértebras cervicales que le permite realizar cualquier tipo
de movimiento con su cabeza dentro de unos 180 grados.
- Tiene ojos pequeños y un largo o prominente hocico.
- La aleta dorsal es más larga y sus aletas pectorales son grandes.
- Nadan unos 30 kilómetros por día

- Este ejemplar lo puedes encontrar en ríos, canales, bosques
inundados por las lluvias y lagos de la zona amazónica oriental del Perú.
- Se alimentan de más de 50 especies distintas de peces, a veces come
cangrejos, moluscos y tortugas de agua dulce.

- Los delfines se comunican de manera sonora y gestual.
- Estos incluyen silbidos, chasquidos y paquetes sonoros de banda
ancha llamados pulsos de ráfaga.

Se cree que el periodo de gestación dura entre nueve a doce meses. Las
hembras dan a luz cuando el río Amazonas está en su máximo nivel,
entre los meses de mayo y julio. Las hembras paren una sola cría cada
dos a tres años y la lactancia dura más de un año.

Son varias las amenazas que ponen en peligro de extinción al delfín
rosado de las amazonas, pero entre las más contundentes se
encuentran las siguientes:
- Caza ilegal
- Destrucción del hábitat
- Contaminación del agua del rio por actividades petroleras.

 Habitat destruction

 Water pollution
