Arinsal tendrá por primera vez una llegada de La Vuelta
en 2023. El municipio, situado en la parroquia de La
Massana, cuenta con una de las principales estaciones
de esquí andorranas, Pal-Arinsal, con 63 km de pistas
esquiables. Cerca de Arinsal se encuentran los picos
más altos de Andorra, el Pic de Coma Pedrosa, el Pic

Los Caballos del Vino es la fiesta más característica
de Caravaca de la Cruz, una localidad coronada por la

El Tourmalet es historia del ciclismo. El propio nombre
de la subida se usa, en la jerga popular ciclista, como
metáfora de un reto difícil de superar. Puerto clásico
de paso del Tour de Francia, este coloso de los Pirineos
se estrena en La Vuelta con un final de etapa, tres
años después de que la pandemia frustrara su debut
en la ronda española, previsto para 2020, pero que,

salida de La Vuelta en 1989 y volverá a serlo más de
tres décadas después con un pelotón que irá buscando

Martínez Cabrejas Mariemma tomó la iniciativa para crear
en su pueblo natal, Íscar, el primer museo del mundo
dedicado a la danza española. La instalación abrió sus
puertas en 2007 y cuenta con una colección de vestidos
que pertenecieron a Mariemma, además de un amplio
archivo documental, gráfico y audiovisual. La localidad
debuta como sede de La Vuelta en 2023 en la segunda
incursión de la carrera en la provincia de Valladolid, tras
la contrarreloj.

Hippodrome narrates almost a century of the capital’s
recent history through its emblematic infrastructure.

CRE. La contrarreloj por equipos regresa a una etapa
inaugural de La Vuelta, esta vez con un recorrido
algo más corto que en otras ediciones. El trazado
mostrará algunos de los lugares más emblemáticos
del centro de Barcelona. Este recorrido, aunque
sea técnico, no debería marcar muchas diferencias
entre los equipos punteros.

Team time trial. The team time trial is, once again,
the first stage of La Vuelta, though this time with a
slightly shorter route. Its outline will showcase some
of the most emblematic locations in Barcelona’s
city centre. Although technical, it’s not expected
to make much of a difference among the leading
teams.

Media Montaña. Etapa de media montaña en la
que el puerto de segunda y el de tercera categoría
pueden consolidar la escapada. Por detrás, los
equipos de los corredores más rápidos deberían
controlar sin problemas de cara al sprint. La
ascensión a Montjuïc podría afectar a los velocistas
puros si se hace con un ritmo exigente. La llegada
también puede quedar abierta si alguien se mueve.

Mid-mountain. This mid-mountain stage features a 2nd
category and a 3rd category climb, both of which can
result in an escape. Meanwhile, the teams containing
the fastest riders should have no trouble dealing with
the sprint. The ascent of the Montjuïc may affect the
sprinters if it takes place at a demanding speed. The
arrival may also be up for grabs if anybody makes a
move.

Montaña. Primera toma de contacto con una etapa
de montaña. La entrada en Andorra estará marcada
por territorio ascendente, primero hacia Canillo y,
después, hacia el Coll d’Ordino. La subida final
a Arinsal puede marcar las primeras diferencias
entre los corredores de la general, especialmente
si alguno de ellos no llega en la forma óptima a los
primeros días de competición.

Mountain. The edition’s first mountain stage.
Entry into Andorra is marked by upward sloping
territory, first towards Canillo, and then towards
Coll d’Ordino. The final climb up to Arinsal can
mark the very first differences between the riders
in the general classification, particularly if any of
them don’t arrive in optimum conditions after the
first couple of days of competing.

Media Montaña. Presumiblemente el desenlace de
esta etapa se resolverá al sprint. Por el camino se
subirán dos puertos de tercera categoría que están
situados en la última parte del recorrido. Estos no
deberían afectar a los velocistas puesto que son
subidas relativamente fáciles y alejadas de la línea
de meta.

Mid-mountain. This stage will, presumably, end in
a sprint. Along the way, will be two 3rd category
mountain passes, located right at the end of the
stage. These should not pose much problems for
sprinters as they are relatively easy climbs, far from
the finish-line.

Media Montaña. Etapa en la que, previsiblemente,
haya un final al sprint. La única dificultad montañosa
del día está a 50 kilómetros de meta. Aunque es
posible que se forme una fuga, las posibilidades
de que llegue serán reducidas puesto que aún
estaremos en la primera semana, las fuerzas estarán
casi intactas y los equipos de los velocistas querrán
aprovechar todas las oportunidades antes de que la
carrera se endurezca.

Mid-mountain. A sprint finale is expected in this
stage. The day’s only mountain challenge will take
place 50 kilometres from the finish-line. Although
escapes are possible, they may not necessarily take
place within the first week of racing. The riders will
still have almost all their energy and sprinters will
want to make the most of this time before the race
becomes much tougher.

de Javalambre se endurece en sus rampas finales
tal y como pudimos apreciar la primera vez que
La Vuelta terminó ahí en 2019. Sin lugar a duda,
esta etapa puede marcar las primeras diferencias
importantes entre los hombres de la general.

Mountain. The climb up to the Astrophysical
Observatory of Javalambre becomes tougher in its
final slopes, as seen the first time we finished a
stage there, back in 2019. Without a doubt, this
stage could well mark the first notable differences
in the general classification.

Llana. Una etapa llana que debería finalizar con
sprint masivo. A priori se trata de un día fácil para
el pelotón. Los equipos de los velocistas trabajarán
para lograr la victoria mientras que los corredores
de la general podrán tomarse un respiro después de
un día exigente y antes de otra etapa que les pondrá
a prueba.

Flat. A flat stage that is expected to end in a mass
sprint to the finish-line. In theory, it’s an easy day
for the peloton. The sprinter teams will work hard to
obtain victory while the general classification riders
will be able to take a break after a very demanding
day, just before another stage that will put their
skills to the test.

Montaña. Jornada intensa con un puerto de tercera,
tres de segunda y uno de primera. Los equipos más
fuertes tendrán que controlar la carrera, aunque no
se descarta una victoria de la fuga puesto que ya
habrá corredores con bastante tiempo perdido. El

de Xorret de Catí tendrá todas las papeletas para

Caravaca de la Cruz serán 7,5 kilómetros de subida
tendida en la que puede llegar un grupo reducido.

CRI. Contrarreloj individual de 25 kilómetros que
solo cuenta con un pequeño repecho en la parte
inicial del recorrido. Los especialistas contra el
crono pueden sacar ventaja a los escaladores puros
ya que se trata de un recorrido poco complicado a
nivel técnico que discurre, mayoritariamente, por
avenidas anchas.

Individual time trial. Individual time trial spanning
over 25 kilometres, with only one small slope at the
very start. Time trial specialists will have a potential
advantage over the climbers as the route is rather
uncomplicated, from a technical point of view, and
takes place mainly in wide avenues.

Llana con final en Alto. Jornada que los especialistas
en cazar etapas desde la fuga deben marcar en
rojo ya que, si ningún equipo de los aspirantes a
la clasificación general controla la carrera, es muy
posible que triunfe la escapada. Muchos corredores
ya conocen la subida a La Laguna Negra desde que
se subiera por primera vez en 2020. Si algún líder
pasa un mal momento puede dejarse mucho tiempo
de cara a la general.

Flat with high-altitude finale. Escape specialists will
want to mark this stage in their calendars as, if
no riders aspiring to win the general classification
manage to control it, an escape could potentially
lead to victory. Many of the riders are already very
familiar with the climb of La Laguna Negra since
it made its race debut in 2020. Should any of the
leaders struggle here, their overall ranking could
suffer.

los abanicos han sido frecuentes cada vez que La
Vuelta ha llegado a Zaragoza. Si se produce esta
situación, será un día peligroso para los corredores
de la general que no se desenvuelvan bien en este
tipo de situaciones. La tensión del pelotón hará que
se vaya a mucha velocidad y lo normal es que todo
concluya con un sprint masivo.

Flat. The wind could make all the difference
here. In fact, echelons are frequent whenever La
Vuelta goes to Zaragoza. If this happens, it will be
a dangerous day for the riders who don’t handle
this type of situation well. The tension within the
peloton will result in high speed, which is expected
to result in a mass sprint to the finish-line.

Montaña. Un día que estará marcado en rojo entre los
aspirantes a la general. Se ascenderán más de 4.000
metros a lo largo de un recorrido que, aunque corto
en cuanto a distancia, no ofrece un solo kilómetro de
respiro. Desde el primer momento la etapa es exigente
con la subida al Portalet. Después de eso, el paso
por el Col d’Aubisque, el Col de Spandelles y el Col
du Tourmalet asegura un espectáculo que dirá qué
corredores quedarán descartados o seguirán en la lucha
por la clasificación general.

Mountain. This stage will be marked in red for all those aspiring
to win the general classification. It consists of over 4,000
metres of climbs that, though short in terms of distance, will

right from the start, with the ascent of the Portalet. Then, the
climbs of the Col d’Aubisque, the Col de Spandelles and the
Col du Tourmalet guarantee a spectacle that will determine
which riders are ruled out and which remain in the battle for
the general classification.

Montaña. Tras la fatiga del Tourmalet, los ciclistas
tendrán que afrontar una etapa exigente de montaña
con final inédito que incluye dos puertos de
categoría especial. Es uno de esos días favorables
para la escapada. Como en la etapa anterior, el
kilometraje no es excesivamente largo, pero la
velocidad, unida a la fatiga, pueden hacer de este
día una jornada muy dura.

Mountain. Following the fatigue of the Tourmalet, the
riders will have to face a very demanding mountain
stage with an unprecedented finale including two
special category climbs. This is a favourable day
for an escape. As in the previous stage, it’s not long
in terms of kilometres, but the speed combined
with fatigue could make this a very tough day.

Media Montaña. La última etapa de esta segunda
semana es otro de esos días favorables para el
triunfo de la escapada. El recorrido incluye un
primer puerto de tercera categoría y una doble
subida a Zuarrarrate, también de tercera categoría.
El último paso se produce a escasos ocho kilómetros
de la meta, con lo que puede actuar de juez para
definir al ganador de la etapa.

Mid-mountain. The final stage of the second week is
another favourable day for a winning escape. The
route includes a first 3rd category climb and a double
ascent of Zuarrarrate, also a 3rd category climb. The
final climb takes place just 8 kilometres from the
finish-line, meaning it could well determine who
wins the stage.

Llana con final en Alto. Un día de kilometraje corto
que promete acabar con un gran espectáculo. La
llegada a Bejes es muy explosiva. La subida, de
segunda categoría, apenas tiene cinco kilómetros
de distancia, pero incluye rampas del 14%.
Seguramente se marquen escasas diferencias entre
los hombres de la general, pero será un final muy
atractivo para el espectador.

Flat with high-altitude finale. A day consisting of few
kilometres that promises to provide a spectacular
finale. The arrival in Bejes is very explosive. The
2nd category climb is only 5 kilometres long, but
includes ramps of up to 14%. The differences to
the general classification are sure to be minimal,
but the finale will be thoroughly enjoyable for
spectators.

Montaña. Un día llamado a marcar el devenir de
la carrera. Los corredores afrontarán dos puertos
de primera categoría, el Cordal y Colladiella,
antes de llegar a las temidas rampas del Angliru.
Posiblemente sea una nueva oportunidad para
la escapada. Por su lado, los hombres de la
general esperarán a las rampas finales, donde se
desencadenará la batalla. El que salga líder de aquí
dará un paso importante para conseguir la victoria
final.

Mountain. This stage will be a decisive one for
the race’s final outcome. Riders will face two 1st
category climbs, the Cordal and Colladiella, before
arriving at the feared slopes of Angliru. Today will
possibly provide another opportunity for an escape.
The men in the general classification will wait
until the final ramps to really go to battle. He who
emerges leader here will be a step closer towards
the final victory.

Montaña. La Cruz de Linares es otro de los puertos
inéditos de La Vuelta 23. En esta ocasión se subirá
por partida doble. Se trata de un puerto nuevo y
duro que puede sorprender a más de algún corredor,
además teniendo en cuenta el factor fatiga tras la
llegada al Angliru. Los equipos que se vean con
fuerza pueden plantear estrategias para desbancar
al líder.

Mountain. La Cruz de Linares is yet another
unprecedented La Vuelta 2023 mountain pass. In
this occasion, however, there will be two ascents. It
is a new, tough, mountain pass that may surprise
some of the riders, particularly taking into the
account their fatigue after arriving at Angliru.
Teams feeling strong enough may plan strategies in
order to knock the leader off the top spot.

Llana. Etapa llana con un muy posible final al sprint,
lo que sería la penúltima oportunidad de victoria
para los corredores más rápidos del pelotón. El
viento, en el caso de aparecer, puede ser la única
complicación que ponga en apuros a los corredores,
los cuales a estas alturas de carrera ya tienen las
fuerzas muy justas.

Flat. Flat stage with a likely sprint to the finish-line,
and the second-last opportunity for the peloton’s
fastest riders to obtain a stage victory. The wind,
should it appear, may be the only complication
to challenge the riders, who will undoubtedly be
extremely tired by this point.

Media Montaña. La etapa más larga de La Vuelta,
de 208,4 kilómetros, llega a un día del final de la
carrera. El recorrido no tiene ascensiones de mucha
dureza, pero acumulará más de 4.000 metros
de desnivel repartidos en diez puertos de tercera
categoría. El terreno es muy sinuoso y frenético,
sin apenas tiempo para relajarse. Ni siquiera en las
bajadas.

Mid-mountain. At 208.4 kilometres long and just
one day before the grand finale, this is the longest
stage of La Vuelta. The route doesn’t feature any
particularly challenging climbs, though it will
include over 4,000 metres of slopes spread out
over 10 3rd category climbs. The terrain is winding
and crazy, allowing little to no time to relax. Not
even on the way down.

Llana. El pelotón volverá a recorrer el centro de
Madrid por un circuito urbano que muchos de
ellos ya conocen como la palma de su mano. A
nivel deportivo la etapa no tiene complicación: un
previsible final al sprint y día de celebración para
los ganadores de la carrera.

Flat. The peloton will ride through the centre of
Madrid once again, through an urban circuit that
many of the riders are already very familiar with.
From a sporting point of view, the stage isn’t
complicated. It has an expected sprint finale and
will be a day of celebration for the race winners.
