El número de electores se incrementó en 62,6% (5.107.569 de personas) desde el año

2002 hasta el 2021. En el proceso electoral 2021 se tiene 13.099.150 electores,
incluidas las personas del exterior.

El pico de crecimiento en el 2009 se debe a la inclusión de 453.822 jóvenes de 16 y 17 años en el

registro electoral, equivalentes al 4,3% del total de electores en dicho año. En el año 2021
disminuye los electores, esto se debe a que, se depuró el registro electoral y se creó un registro
pasivo en el cual constan los ciudadanos que no votaron en las últimas cuatro elecciones.

Palabras Claves
 Electores: Son las personas que reúne las condiciones
constitucionales y legales, que, constando en el registro electoral,
tienen la facultad de ejercer los derechos políticos de forma activa a
través del derecho al sufragio.

 Sufragantes: Son aquellos electores que ejercieron su derecho al

voto el día de la elección y que dejaron constancia con su firma o
huella digital en el padrón electoral.

 Ausentismo: Corresponde al número y porcentaje de electores que

no acudieron a sufragar el día de la votación.
Porcentaje de Crecimiento
El porcentaje de crecimiento de los electores fue calculado aplicando la
fórmula para crecimiento demográfico entre elecciones consecutivas:
