Interfluvius
Scientia Interfluvius, es una revista de la Univer-
sidad Autónoma de Entre Ríos, editada a través
de la Secretaría de Ciencia y Técnica, median-
te la cual se difunde principalmente la actividad
académica/investigativa de la Universidad. Su
publicación es de estilo académica arbitrada, mul-
tidisciplinar y bilingüe. Se edita semestralmente
en formato on-line (de libre acceso) como en pa-
pel. El lector podrá encontrar artículos donde se
incluyen investigaciones locales pertenecientes
a una amplia gama de disciplinas que abarcan las
carreras de grado y posgrado que se dictan en la
Universidad (en áreas como las Ciencias Natura-
les, Ciencias Sociales, Humanidades y Tecnolo-
gía), como también de otros países que interac-
túan fluidamente con esta. Estas publicaciones
tienen una alta difusión y se editan en secciones
de trabajos científicos, notas científicas, ensayos

y reseñas bibliográficas, Necrológicas y Comen-
tarios. Las publicaciones que son seleccionadas
por la Coordinadora y el responsable de Edición
deben significar un aporte original para la co-

Una forma más de acercarnos. Un modo de relacio-
narnos, de latir para que nos escuchen y escuchar
para sentirnos en compañía.
Scientia Interfluvius sale otra vez a la luz y se pone
al alcance de la sociedad en general, de la comu-
nidad científica en particular, para saciar el deseo
de aprender pero también aquel otro anhelo -tan
humano- de sentirnos acompañados.
Nos toca salir en un momento histórico por situacio-
nes que no deseamos, no evitamos pero que inexo-
rablemente debemos remediar. Nuestro río Paraná,
ese lecho natural de vida que atraviesa la intimidad
de la región, está sufriendo a nuestro lado y nosotros
junto a él.
En este momento de incertidumbre que nos atra-
viesa, lo único que nos faltaba era que el caudal de
nuestro río disminuya a una altura inimaginable,
como si él también sintiera la lejanía, la incomodi-
dad, la nueva forma de vivir, pero que nos permite
reencontrarnos más fuertes y listos para renacer y
aprender una nueva manera.

¿Quién no se siente parte de este inmenso río que
nos atraviesa? ¿alguien acaso no ha sentido angus-
tia al ver el lecho del río desnudo de su majestuo-
sa vestimenta? El río es parte de nosotros, y como
dice mejor Juanele: “…de pronto sentí el río en mí,
corría en mí, con sus orillas trémulas de señas, con
sus hondos reflejos apenas estrellados”.
Sabemos que el río volverá a su cauce natural y
pensamos ¿quién regresa con el río?
—¿Era yo el que regresaba?— en la angustia vaga
de sentirme solo entre las cosas últimas y secretas?
Nosotros hoy volvemos con el objetivo de siempre:
informar, difundir, divulgar los conocimientos de la
comunidad universitaria de nuestra región.
Somos la revista de siempre, pero con la dualidad
del cambio, de haber aprendido que todo deja su
huella, como el río, que todo lo lleva, que todo lo
trae y que sin inmutarse marca los ciclos.
Somos la revista de la Universidad Autónoma de
Entre Ríos, la que se edita de manera semestral a
través de la Secretaría de Ciencia y Técnica, la que
difunde las actividades académicas e investigativas
de mujeres y hombres de esta casa de estudios y
de formación.
En este número encontraremos un trabajo muy
interesante, donde se identifica el proceso que ca-
racteriza la ronda del mate, en medio de una pan-
demia, que sin duda ha impedido esta práctica que
siempre nos ha permitido borrar diferencias, acer-
carnos y hasta olvidar enojos. Tomar mate en con-
junto es algo que nos caracteriza, en este trabajo se
profundiza este proceso de acercamiento que nos
permite la ronda de mate.
Siguiendo la ruta de la edición veremos dos traba-
jos que apuntan a la ley de salud mental; uno des-
de una perspectiva histórica y otra más focalizada
en la práctica del profesional de la salud mental
con jóvenes en conflictos. También encontrarán en
este número un trabajo de criminalística, donde

las autoras discuten resultados experimentales de
cotejar firmas falsificadas de manera mecanizada.
Completamos la edición con un artículo de corte
biológico, sobre la calidad de agua y su vinculación
con la biodiversidad que habitan una laguna en la
ciudad de Gualeguaychú.
También nos toca regresar en este momento en
que la pandemia sigue entre nosotros. Por eso tam-
bién seremos más que nunca compañía. El interflu-
vio por el que transitan ideas y datos, conceptos y
postulados. Hablamos de los postulados de la uni-
versidad pública que en esta parte del planeta emi-
tió al mundo un temprano ejemplo de inclusión, de
conocimiento, de solidaridad que logró socializar la
respuesta ante el deseo de saber, de democratizar
las posibilidades.
Desde la Universidad no podemos sino poner los
mejores gestos al rostro de la humanidad. Reparar
lo lastimado, intentar nuevos avances, compartir los
descubrimientos. Y para eso estamos otra vez, ahora
con esta nueva edición de Scientia Interfluvius.

RESUMEN ABSTRACT

En el presente artículo se exhibirán los resultados
experimentales obtenidos al someter a cotejo las
firmas falsificadas de manera mecanizada por me-
dio de una impresora CNC, con sus firmas originales
realizadas por una persona humana, que luego de
ser sometidas a un proceso de digitalización, fueron
reproducidas por este dispositivo mecánico. Luego
del análisis por el método Grafocrítico, se obtuvie-
ron como particularidades más relevantes: rigidez
en el trazado, o trazo uniforme y continuo cuando
las firmas originales presentan trazo alterno entre
magistral y perfil; detenciones, retomas y presencia
de cúmulos o esquirlas en el trazado de la reproduc-
ción; diferencia de velocidad, observando oscilaciones
y vibraciones en la ejecución, siendo más evidentes en
los trazos ascendentes de perfil; diferencia de forma,
en inicios y finales acerados o arponados, donde en
su reproducción son del tipo redondeado. Se concluye
que el presente estudio puede proveer, al análisis peri-
cial, una herramienta eficaz para el reconocimiento de
este tipo de falsificaciones.
This article will show the experimental results ob-
tained by comparing falsified signatures mechanized
by means of a CNC printer, with their original signa-
tures made by a natural person, which after being
subjected to a digitization process, were reproduced
by this mechanical device. After the analysis by the
Grafocritical method, the most relevant characteris-
tics were obtained: stiffness in the layout, or uniform
and continuous outline when the original signatures
present alternate outline between master and profi-
le; arrests, retakes and presence of clusters or chips
in the path of reproduction; speed difference, obser-
ving oscillations and vibrations in the execution, be-
ing more evident in the upward strokes of the profile;
difference of form, in beginnings and endings steely
or barbed, where in their reproduction they are of
the rounded type. It is concluded that the present
study can provide, to the expert analysis, an effective
tool for the recognition of this type of falsifications.

INTRODUCCIÓN
Por el avance tecnológico y las diferentes presta-
ciones ofrecidas de la Impresora C.N.C. X-Y Arduino
y total acceso, este dispositivo se constituye en un
objeto para el análisis caligráfico por ser ofrecido,
comercialmente, para la reproducción masiva de
manuscritos y firmas corporativas, y por este moti-
vo despertó interés en el estudio del mismo ante la
probabilidad de su utilización en imitaciones frau-
dulentas de documentos.
Este dispositivo en particular tiene la propiedad de
poder intercambiar su herramienta preexistente
por un elemento escritor, obrando este de puño es-
critor, permitiendo por medio del escáner de una
firma Indubitada la previa digitalización y reproduc-
ción de una firma similar con un elemento escritor
específico y permitiendo simular las características
gráficas del autor.
Existen investigaciones previas que han estudiado
procesos mecanizados para la reproducción de es-
crituras y firmas, que han mencionado al Aparato
de Fischof (Del Val Latierro, 1963), el Pantógrafo
(Silveyra, 2005), el algoritmo llamado My Text in
Your Handwriting, un programa que puede anali-
zar la caligrafía de una persona y generar de forma
semiautomática un texto que parece haber sido
escrito por esa misma persona con mucha preci-
sión (Haines, Mac Aodha & Brostow, 2015) y un
software de escritura robótica denominado Bond
(Dumitra, Guzowski, Jean, Shaw, Warmbier & Zippo,
2018). El robot tiene un brazo mecánico que tiene el
instrumento de escritura y una platina con la que es-
tabiliza el medio en el que se va a escribir, el mismo
lee el código y se mueve a través de tres ejes lo que
le permite imitar el movimiento humano al escribir.
En el caso del aparato de fischof, es un tablero de
cristal esmerilado utilizado tradicionalmente para
proyectar la escritura de un individuo para luego re-
producirla por transparencia o fotografía, y hacerlo
pasar como obra del autor de la escritura utilizada.
Según Del Val Latierro (1963) pese a la perfección
del sistema, fallan en él algunas características no-

INTRODUCTION
With technological progress and the different services
offered by the Arduino C.N.C. X-Y printer and total
access, a device that makes calligraphic analysis for
the massive reproduction of manuscripts and corpo-
rate signatures is commercially available. There has
been interest in its study considering the likelihood of
its use in the fraudulent imitation of documents.
This device in particular, has the property of be-
ing able to change its pre-existing tool to a writing
element and manifests itself with what seems to be
handwriting, allowing the undoubted signature of
the previous digitalisation through scanning and
the reproduction of a similar signature. This is done
with a specific writing element that allows the simu-
lation of the graphic characteristics of the author.
There is previous research that has mentioned the
Fischof Apparatus (Del Val Latierro, 1963), the Pan-
tograph (Silveyra, 2005), the algorithm called My
Text in Your Handwriting, a programme that can
analyse the handwriting of a human and generate
a text in a semi-automatic way so that it appears to
have been written by this same human with much
precision (Haines, Mac Aodha & Brostow, 2015).
There is also a robotic handwriting software named
Bond (Dumitra, Guzowski, Jean, Shaw, Warmbier &
Zippo, 2018). The robot has a mechanical arm with
a writing instrument and plate to establish the me-
dium in which it will write; it also reads the code and
moves through three axes which allow it to imitate
the movements of a human when writing.
In the case of the Fischof apparatus, there is a fros-
ted crystal board used traditionally to project the
writing of an individual to reproduce it by a trans-
parency or photography and then make it pass for
the work of the author of the writing used. According
to Del Val Latierro (1963), in spite of the perfection
of the system, some of its notable characteristics
which cannot escape the expert test, are the anoma-
lies of the links and also in the form and direction
of the gridded sheet. This is referred to by Silveyra
(2005), who presents imitations through tracing
tables que no pueden escapar al examen pericial,
como son las anomalías de los enlaces y en la for-
ma y dirección de la caja del renglón. Lo mismo re-
fiere a Silveyra (2005), quien presenta imitaciones
por calco a través de pantógrafos, además agrega
que siendo éste un instrumento similar al anterior,
dispone de dos brazos articulados (pueden ser ma-
nuales o robotizados), de los cuales uno se apoya
en el diseño original a copiar, y en el otro se coloca
un elemento escritor que va reproduciendo los mo-
vimientos exactos del primer brazo.
Aquí las características que delatan el proceso de fal-
sificación es el trazado con rigidez mecánica; cortes,
detenciones en mitad de una curva o recta, o reto-
mas que denotan falta de espontaneidad, así como
también un presionado constante sin variación.
El algoritmo llamado My Text in Your Handwriting
según Haines et al., (2015), hace uso de una serie
de patrones que construye sus palabras cada per-
sona; el algoritmo se encarga de detectar cada es-
tilo, sus variaciones e irregularidades para luego
imitarlos. Este algoritmo añade aleatoriedad, algo
que hace que esa escritura no se replique de forma
monótona y repetitiva.
Para el software de escritura robótica Bond según
sus autores (Dumitra et al., 2018), el proceso co-
mienza primero por el escaneó de la muestra de es-
critura. Después se diseña la fuente de la letra del
autor, se realizan algunos retoques en los trazos,
y corrección de la línea base. Luego se realiza un
Render de la escritura que se transforma en código,
que le comunica al robot para que realice la copia
de la escritura.
El robot no puede reproducir el movimiento hu-
mano al escribir, la configuración física del robot es
la responsable de la presión contundente del bolí-
grafo, de la falta de trazos cónicos y de marcas de
arrastre, así como del sombreado en la escritura. La
superposición de características o la precisión exac-
ta del espaciado.
Debido a la escasa información existente sobre
el uso de una impresora CNC X-Y Arduino X-Y y su
relación con el peritaje de firmas y escrituras, se
consideró oportuno profundizar en el estudio de
las características que surgieran del análisis par-
ticularizado de las reproducciones de escritura y
firmas obtenidas mediante esta tecnología, respecto

The algorithm called My Text in Your Handwriting, ac-
cording to Haines et al., (2015), makes use of a series of
patterns that construct the words of each person; the
algorithm is charged with detecting each style, its varia-
tions and irregularities to then imitate these. This algo-
rithm adds randomness which helps avoid monotony
and repetition in the replication of this writing.
For the robotic writing software Bond, according to
the authors (Dumitra et al., 2018), the process begins
by first scanning a writing sample. Later the source
of letters, as used by the author, is designed followed
by some retouches in the tracing along with correc-
tion of the basic lines. Then the writing is Rendered,
transformed in code and communicated to the robot
so that the copy of the writing be made.
The robot cannot reproduce the human movement
when writing; the physical configuration of the robot
is responsible for the pressure laid on the pen, of the
lack of conical tracing and of marks that show drag-
ging as well as shading in the writing. The superpo-
sition of the characteristics or the exact precision of
the spacing is also to be considered.
Owing to the scarce information available on the use
of the Arduino X-Y CNC printer linked to expertise
in signatures and writing, it was considered oppor-
tune to make an in-depth study of the characteristics
that emerge in the specialised analysis of reproduc-
tions of writing and signatures obtained through this
technology with writing bodies obtained by different
authors. Then there were questions on how much
and what the graphic characteristics amounted to,
and if they are similar or different to the signatures
made by a human and those reproduced by a scan-
ner or Arduino CNC X-Y printer, with the same wri-
ting elements and their respective supports.

tores. Surgió, entonces, el cuestionamiento en cuanto
a cuáles son las características gráficas, semejantes o
diferentes entre las firmas realizadas por una persona
física, reproducidos mediante un scanner y una Impre-
sora CNC X-Y Arduino, con los mismos elementos escri-
tores y sus respectivos soportes.
MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS
A partir de un diseño de investigación cualitativo,
de campo experimental con un estudio descriptivo,
donde se buscó, comparó y evaluó los distintos aspec-
tos escriturales de las grafo-construcciones confeccio-
nadas, empleándose el “Sistema Grafocrítico” como
método de análisis, con el fin de obtener las particula-
ridades que identificarían la falsificación gráfica.
El objetivo de la investigación fue describir y do-
cumentar las características similares o diferentes
que resultaron del análisis de las firmas obtenidas
con scanner en alta resolución junto a una compu-
tadora; y su reproducción por medio de la Impre-
sora C.N.C. X-Y Arduino (CNC de cuatro (4) grados
de libertad, solo se utilizaron 3, x, y, z. El 4to. eje es
rotativo, para herramientas tipo mechas o fresas.
La misma fue diseñada y fabricada por el Labora-
torio de Informática de la Universidad Tecnológica
Nacional; utilizando el software Controller PlanetC-
NC® versión 2.10.1807.26.01 Sw).
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA MUESTRA
Para llevar a cabo el estudio se seleccionaron trein-
ta (30) personas de forma aleatoria, cuya edad os-
cilaba entre veinte (20) y cincuenta (50) años, de
ambos sexos, quienes, en forma voluntaria, efec-
tuaron dos (2) cuerpos de escritura, consistentes
en diez (10) firmas del mismo tenor; uno mediante
bolígrafo trazo medio, marca “Bic”®, de tinta pas-
tosa color azul en papel obra tamaño A4 de 75 gr
marca Tempo, coincidente en cada uno de los pa-
trones tomados.
El segundo con elemento escritor con una Hidro-
gráfica de punta de fieltro microfibra trazo ultra
fino de 4 mm marca “Micro”® en papel de obra ta-
maño A4 de 75 gr marca Tempo®. Ambos cuerpos
de escritura en posición sentada, encontrándose el
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Based on a qualitative research design from an ex-
perimental field with a descriptive study which was
researched, compared and evaluated, the different
writing aspects of the graph-constructions designed
with the “Graphocritical System” as an analysis me-
thod was used aimed at obtaining the particularities
that identify graphic falsification.
The objective of the research was to describe and do-
cument the similar or different characteristics that
came out in the analysis of the signatures obtained
with a high resolution scanner together with a com-
puter; and its reproduction by means of a Arduino
C.N.C. X-Y printer of four (4) degrees of freedom,
only 3, x, y and z were used. The fourth axis is rotati-
ve, for tools that are of the bit or milling cutter type.
These were designed and made by the Computer
Science Laboratory of the Universidad Tecnológica
Nacional; using Controller Planet CNC® software,
version 2.10.1807.26.01 Sw).
DESCRIPTION OF THE SAMPLE
To complete the study, thirty (30) humans of both
sexes whose ages oscillated between twenty (20)
and fifty (50) years were selected randomly and vo-
lunteered to provide two (2) writing samples. These
samples consisted of ten (10) signatures of the same
tenor; one using a pen with medium thickness, of the
brand “Bic”®, with a pasty blue ink on A4 work pa-
per of the brand Tempo, weighing 75 gr and each of
them coinciding with the taken patterns.
The second with the writing element was Hydrogra-
phic with a micro fibre ultra fine felt nib of the “Mi-
cro”® brand measuring 4 mm on A4 size work paper
weighing 75 gr of the brand Tempo®. Both writing
samples were made in a seated position, and the su-
pport available was horizontal.
Then, its digitalisation was carried out using a scan-
ner of the brand “Epson”® in a 1200 dpi resolution
which was stored securely in a Toshiba device of one
(1) terabyte. Next an overall analysis of the original
signatures was made with a microscope and one of
the ten printed signatures of each of the writing sam-
ples reuniting the majority of the characteristics of
the total writing of the page was selected and made
soporte dispuesto horizontalmente.
Lugo se procedió a su digitalización por medio de
un scanner Marca “Epson”® en una resolución de
1200 ppp, la cual se almacenó en un dispositivo de
un (1) Tera byte marca Toshiba para su resguardo.
Seguidamente se procede a un análisis de visu y
bajo microscopio de las firmas originales y se se-
lecciona una de las diez firmas estampadas de cada
uno de los cuerpos de escritura, que reúna la mayo-
ría de las características del total de la plana escri-
tural y se dispone para su reproducción.
Estas imágenes digitalizadas se reprodujeron por la
Impresora C.N.C. X-Y Arduino diseñada y fabricada
por el laboratorio de informática de la Universidad
Tecnológica Nacional, con un software Controller
PlanetCNC® versión 2.10.1807.26.01 Sw; efectua-
das con los mismos elementos escritores de su ori-
ginal y sobre similar soporte, teniendo en cuenta
las características documentadas en el momento
de la toma de los cuerpos de escritura para su es-
tampado en el papel.
La información obtenida, del cotejo de las gra-
fo-construcciones, fueron analizados considerán-
dose las Leyes de la escritura (Solange Pellat, 2015),
y por la técnica de análisis del Sistema Grafocrítico
para determinar cuáles son las características coin-
cidentes o diferentes que presenten los documen-
tos analizados (Del Val Latierro, 1963).
Este análisis fue del tipo Descriptivo, el que consis-
tió en comparación de las muestras obtenidas para
determinar elementos diferentes o coincidentes
en calidad y cantidad suficiente para poder hacer
afirmaciones certeras; donde los procesos de pro-
ducción de firmas falsas y la obtención de las planas
escriturales fueron documentados mediante video,
sumando así mayor certeza a los resultados.
Esta técnica abarcó un estudio profundizado del
grafismo teniendo en cuenta no solo los distintos
procesos de fraude gráfico, considerando todos los
elementos y las características de mayor valor en
un estudio pericial, derivado del profundo estudio
de las diversas formas de la producción gráfica,
prestándole especial atención a los movimientos
que dan origen a la escritura y los pequeños de-
talles de construcción de cada uno de ellos, casi
totalmente en el campo microscópico. Se aplicó el
proceso de cotejo de las muestras obtenidas según

These digitalised images were reproduced by the
Arduino C.N.C. X-Y printer designed and made by
the Computer Science Laboratory of the Universidad
Tecnológica Nacional, with Controller PlanetCNC®
software, version 2.10.1807.26.01 Sw; carried out by
the same writing elements as the original and on si-
milar backing, bearing in mind the documented cha-
racteristics at the moment when the writing samples
were taken for printing on paper.
The information obtained, from the comparison of
the graph constructions, were analysed considering
the Laws of writing (Solange Pellat, 2015), and Gra-
phocritical System for the analysis technique to de-
termine the characteristics that coincide or differ in
the documents analysed (Del Val Latierro, 1963).
This analysis was of the descriptive type, which
consists of a comparison of the samples obtained
to sufficiently determine different or coincidental
elements in quality and quantity to be able to affirm
certainties; where the production processes of false
signatures and the obtaining of writing pages were
documented using video, thus adding greater cer-
tainty to the results.
This technique encompassed an in-depth study of
graphics, taking into account not only the different
processes of graphic fraud, but also considering all
the elements and the characteristics of greater va-
lue in the expert study. Thus the diverse forms of
graphic production were derived from the in-depth
study and special attention was given to the move-
ments with which writing originates along with the
little construction details of each of these, nearly all
of which belong in the field of microscopy. The com-
parison process was applied to the samples obtained
according to Del Val Latierro (1963), which consists
of the study of the graphisms of a writer, her/his mo-
vements, the graphic gestures, the personality that
would be framed in the structural analysis and sub-
sequently, the verification of doubtful graphics.
The graphic gesture is a series of specific actions or
movements that are highly selective and illude the
supervisory action of the conscience. Such a gesture
is impossible to imitate or conceal as it corresponds
to those that dominate the invisible elements of gra-
phism; it is always present, repeatedly and constant-
ly in each human, this being that person’s own, uni-

grafías de un escritor, sus movimientos, sus gestos
gráficos, su personalidad que estaría encuadrado
en el análisis estructural, y seguidamente se verifi-
ca la grafía dudosa.
El gesto gráfico es una serie de actos o movimien-
tos específicos que son sumamente selectivos y
escapan a la acción vigilante de la conciencia. Es
imposible de imitar o disimular, ya que correspon-
de a los que se denominan elementos invisibles
del grafismo; se presenta permanente, repetitivo y
constante en cada persona, siendo propio y único
de ella perduran en la imitación o el disimulo Del
Val Latierro (1963).
El análisis comparativo exhaustivo se comienza por
los elementos constitutivos o formales, tomando
especial atención en las formas peculiares que se
van encontrando y, se le suma lo determinado en el
análisis estructural. Luego se vuelca en un cuadro
de analogías y diferencias formales entre ambos es-
critos, para poder arribar a una conclusión.
El proceso de cotejo consistió en encontrar elemen-
tos diferentes o coincidentes en calidad y cantidad
suficiente para poder hacer afirmaciones certeras;
donde los procesos de producción de firmas o es-
critos falsos no siempre presentan resultados uni-
formes, porque no se está presente en el momento
en el cual el falsario realiza la reproducción de la
firma, sino que ya se encuentra estampada en el
papel. En este caso se documentó tanto el proce-
so de obtención de las planas escriturales como el
proceso de reproducción de las mismas sumando
así mayor certeza en la conclusión del mismo.
Cada persona humana se registró con el nombre de
Sujeto y un número distinguiendo en cada plana es-
critural si se realizó con bolígrafo o con una Hidro-
gráfica de punta de fieltro, obteniendo una descrip-
ción como por ejemplo de “Sujeto Nº 1 – Elemento
escritor Bolígrafo”.
PROCEDIMIENTOS
Una vez obtenidas todas las planas escriturales, se co-
menzó con el proceso de digitalización de las mismas,
iniciando con la digitalización de las firmas del sujeto N°1,
en cada elemento escritor, hasta culminar con el sujeto
N° 30; para lo que se realizó una secuencia de pasos.

The comparative exhaustive analysis begins with the
constitutive or formal elements, paying special at-
tention to the peculiar forms found and then adding
what has been determined in the structural analysis.
Then, these are placed in a format of analogies and
formal differences between the two writings, to be
able to arrive at a conclusion.
The comparison consists of finding different or coin-
cidental elements in quality or quantity that are su-
fficient to be able to make reliable affirmations where
the production processes of the signatures or the false
writings do not always present uniform results. This
is because one is not present at the moment when the
forger carries out the reproduction of the signature; ra-
ther, these are found printed on paper. In this case the
acquisition of the writing plans and their reproduction
process were documented thus adding greater certitude
to the conclusion concerning them.
Each human is registered with the name of the Subject
and a distinguishing number; each writing plan distin-
guishes if a ballpoint pen or fountain pen with a felt nib
was used thus giving a description such as, for example
“Subject Nº 1 – Writing element Ballpoint”.
PROCEDURES
Once all of the writing plans have been obtained, their
digitalisation process began with the subject N°1, and
so forth including each writer, culminating with subject
N° 30; for which a sequence of steps was realised.
Step 1: Firstly the digitalisation of each writing plan
was carried out in the scanner/printer device model
tx-210 of the brand Epson which configures with a
resolution of 1200 dpi in 24 bit in colour, obtaining a
file that is stored as a bitmap.
Step 2: Next, an overall analysis of the obtained
images was made and one (1) of the ten (10) signatu-
res printed. The majority had their own characteris-
tics of the graphic gesture of one human, keeping a
register of this selection.
Paso 3: Then, the signature is taken digitally and
kept in a new file identifying it with a subject number
and type of writing element (Fig. 1 and 2).
Step 4: The procedure continues converting the
image in a stencilled pattern, transforming it in a

Paso 1: En primer momento se lleva a cabo la digi-
talización de cada plana escritural en el dispositivo
escáner/Impresora marca Epson modelo tx-210, el
cual se configura con una resolución de 1200 ppp
en 24 bit de color, obteniendo un archivo que es
guardado como tipo mapa de bit.
Paso 2: Seguidamente se procede a un análisis de
visu de las imágenes obtenidas y se selecciona una (1)
de las diez (10) firmas estampadas que reúna la ma-
yoría de las características propias del gesto gráfico de
una persona, llevando un registro de esta selección.
Paso 3: Luego, se recorta digitalmente la firma, guar-
dando ésta en un nuevo archivo identificado con nú-
mero de sujeto y tipo de elemento escritor (Fig. 1 y 2).
Paso 4: El procedimiento continúa convirtiendo la
imagen en un patrón de esténcil, transformando la
misma en una secuencia de pixeles de color negro
quitando el fondo del soporte y cualquier sobra o
suciedad que en él aparezcan.
Para este proceso se utiliza el programa Rapid Resizer
(http://online.rapidresizer.com/photograph-to-pat-
tern.php), con una configuración de patrón adaptado
de 80 % de negro y bordes suaves. Luego de realizar los
ajustes requeridos para la obtención de una imagen
clara, el patrón se guardó con una extensión (.PNG).
Paso 5: Seguidamente de obtener la imagen parame-
trizada de cada uno de los sujetos, con cada uno de
los elementos escritores, se procedió a la vectoriza-

pixelized sequence in black, removing the back-
ground support and blotches that appear in it.
For this process the programme Rapid Resizer
(http://online.rapidresizer.com/photograph-to-pa-
ttern.php) is used with a pattern configuration
adapted from 80 % in black with soft borders. After
making the required adjustments to obtain a clear
image, the model is stored with an extension (.PNG).
Step 5: Following the acquisition of a parametrised
image of each of the subjects, with each of the wri-
ting elements, the vectorisation of the design was ca-
rried out (https://imagen.online-convert.com/es/
convertir-a-svg). This instrument allows the con-
version of the image to the format of Scalable Vector
Graphic (SVG).
Step 6: Once the image is converted in graphic
vectors, the procedure continues with its trans-
formation in a SCAD file for which the application
inkscape was used. Once the SVG file was opened
in the application, the tab ‘extensions’ was selec-
ted with the option ‘generate from route’ and from
here the option routes leads to openSCAD. In this
process the SCAD file with a 2 mm extrusion height
was downloaded; it can be read and rendered by the
application OpenSCAD.
Step 7: The final step was the opening of the SCAD
file in the OpenSCAD application which is rendered
to obtain a 2D Extruded STL file, which was expor-

Paso 6: Una vez convertida la imagen en vectores
gráficos se procede a la transformación de la mis-
ma en un archivo. SCAD, para esto se utilizó la apli-
cación inkscape; donde una vez abierto el archivo
.SVG en la aplicación, se selecciona en la pestaña
extensiones la opción generar desde ruta y aquí la
opción rutas a OpenSCAD. En este proceso se des-
carga un archivo. SCAD de 2 mm de altura de ex-
trusión, que puede ser leído y renderizado por la
aplicación OpenSCAD.
Paso 7: Como último paso se abrió el archivo SCAD
en la aplicación OpenSCAD el cual es renderizado
para obtener un archivo 2D Extruido STL, el cual se
exporto como STL y el mismo puede ser importado
luego por la Impresora 3D o CNC (Fig. 3).
Paso 8: Se prosigue con la reproducción de cada
una de las imágenes transformadas con el fin de
producir una falsificación de estas firmas digitali-
zadas con el mismo elemento escritor e igual so-
porte, teniendo en cuenta los datos recolectados
con respecto a la inclinación del puño escritor y
orientación del elemento escritor, los cuales fueron
registrados por medio de video en el momento de
la toma de las planas escriturales.
Para la realización de las reproducciones, se utilizó
una máquina Impresora CNC de marca PlanetCNC
de dispositivo de entrada USB y software controla-

ted as STL. The same could then be imported by the
3D or CNC printer (Fig. 3).
Step 8: The process is carried on with the reproduc-
tion of each of the transformed images to produce the
falsification of these digitalised signatures with the
same writing element and backup. This is done taking
into account the accumulated data on the inclination
of the writer’s wrist and the orientation of the writing
element; both of which were registered by means of a
video made at the time of writing upon the page.
For making the reproductions, a CNC printer of the
PlanetCNC brand with an USB entry device and sof-
tware was used; the work was controlled by a team
of computer scientists in the systems laboratory of
the Parana branch of the Universidad Tecnológica
Nacional. The work was calibrated with the research
of the Engineer Alejandro Cabral from the Computer
Science Laboratory (Fig. 4). This device presents the
technical characteristics of the motors used step by
step for the control of the axes of the machine, as
well as the functioning of each of its axes.
For each of the motors, the following technical speci-
fications were used:
X axis motor: The motor that was installed step
by step in the X axis has a serrated thread which is
added to the belt communicating and allowing the
control of movements of the base upon which the pa-
per support rests; this is where the reproduction of
the signature is realised (Table 1).
Observation: Given that a microstepping of 8 was used,

do por un equipo informático, la cual fue facilitada
por el laboratorio de informática de la Universidad
Tecnológica Nacional, con sede en Paraná. La mis-
ma fue calibrada para esta investigación por el Inge-
niero Alejandro Cabral perteneciente al laboratorio
de informática (Fig. 4). Este dispositivo presenta las
características técnicas de los motores paso a paso
utilizados para el control de los ejes de la máquina,
así como la función desempeñada por cada uno de
éstos en sus ejes.
Para cada motor se utilizaron las especificaciones
técnicas siguientes:
Motor eje X: El motor paso a paso instalado en el
eje X posee una rosca dentada a la cual se le aña-
de una correa, que comunica y permite controlar
el movimiento de la base sobre la cual se apoya el
soporte de papel donde se realiza la reproducción
de la firma (Tabla 1).
Observación: Dado que se utilizó un micro-steping
de 8, se multiplica la cantidad de pasos y da 1600.
Motor eje Y: El motor paso a paso instalado en el
eje Y posee una rosca dentada a la cual se le añade
una correa dentada, que comunica y permite con-
trolar el movimiento del soporte sobre el cual está
instalado el elemento escritor utilizado para la rea-

Z axis motor: The motor that was installed step
by step in the Z axis controls the vertical movement
through a screw without end which links it to the su-
pport that has the writing element of which it must
regulate the height upon the support which is per-
pendicular to it (Table 3).
Observation: For the progression of the z axis
a Whitworth type screw without end, of a diame-
ter5/16 [in] and of 0.0556 [in] per step is used. Gi-
ven that a micro stepping of 8 is used, the steps were
multiplied and resulted in1600.
The software used for controlling the device is CNC
USB Controller (Fig. 5)
For the reproduction of the signatures, the next pro-
cedure was the configuration of the motors of each

Observación: Dado que utilizó un micro-steping de
8, se multiplica la cantidad de pasos y da 2400.
Motor eje Z: El motor paso a paso instalado en el
eje Z controla el movimiento vertical a través de
una rosca sin fin que lo comunica con el soporte
que posee el elemento escritor y es el encargado
de regular la altura del mismo sobre el soporte que
esta perpendicular al mismo (Tabla 3).
Observación: Para el avance del eje z se utiliza una
rosca sin fin de tipo Whitworth, de diámetro5/16
[in] y de 0.0556 [in] por paso. Dado que se utiliza
un micro-steping de 8, multiplicamos la cantidad de
pasos y da 1600.
El software utilizado para controlar el dispositivo es
CNC USB Controller (Fig. 5)
Para la reproducción de las firmas, se procedió con
la configuración de los motores de cada eje de la
siguiente manera (Tabla 4):
Una vez configurados los motores X, Y, Z se inicia

For each particular case and, according to the in-
formation gathered from the analysis of the original
signatures, the processing was done with the indivi-
dual configuration for each of these regarding velo-
city and height of the Z axis. This was translated in
pressure of the writing element, scale etc. that was
determined as in the following example:
In the same manner as in the digitalisation stage the
same subjects were taken as examples to illustratively
demonstrate the result of the reproduction using diffe-
rent pressures of the writing element (Fig. 7 and 8):

con la producción de las firmas, del sujeto Nº 1 con

elemento escritor bolígrafo hasta el sujeto Nº 30.
Luego de proceder con dos o tres diferentes presio-
nes o alturas del eje Z, se seleccionó la más similar
a la firma original; así sucesivamente se continuó
con el elemento escritor Microfibra, cumpliendo la
misma premisa.
Para cada caso particular y según la información
recolectada del análisis de las firmas originales, se
procedió con la configuración individual para cada
una de ellas en cuanto a velocidad, altura del eje
Z, lo que se traduce en presión del elemento es-
critor, escala, etc. que queda determinada como el
siguiente ejemplo:
De la igual manera que en la etapa de digitalización
se toman los mismos sujetos de ejemplo para de-
mostrar ilustrativamente el resultado de la repro-
ducción en diferentes presiones del elemento es-
critor (Fig. 7 y 8):

Paso 9: Se comienza por el estudio y análisis según
el método Grafocrítico de todas las planas escritu-
rales obtenidas, tomando fotografías bajo diferen-
te iluminación, como así también bajo microscopio.
Obteniendo las particularidades requeridas pre-
sentes en cada firma que describe la personalidad
gráfica del escribiente. Los resultados del mismo se
volcaron en un cuadro de cotejo entre las firmas
originales y las falsificadas de forma mecánica para
cada sujeto y cada elemento escritor.
RESULTADOS
Luego del análisis minucioso de las planas escri-
turales y sus reproducciones correspondientes, se
pasó a analizar los resultados obtenidos del mismo,
con el fin de establecer si se cumple o no con la
hipótesis establecida en el comienzo del estudio.
En la exposición de los resultados de destaco las
firmas originales con un recuadro de color verde,
y las reproducciones con un recuadro de color rojo.
Elemento escritor Bolígrafo:
En las firmas de trazo perfil o fino, se observaron
oscilaciones en el trazado de sus reproducciones,

Step 9: begins with the study and analysis accor-
ding to the Graphocritical method and was made
of all the writing pages obtained, with photographs
using different lighting and also seen with a micros-
cope. Thus the required peculiarities in each signa-
ture describing the graphic personality of the writer
were obtained. These results were noted in a table
for comparison between the original signatures and
those that were falsified in a mechanical form for
each subject and each writing element.
RESULTS
Following thorough analysis of the written pages
and their corresponding reproductions, the results
thereby obtained were analysed so as to establish
whether or not the hypothesis established at the be-
ginning of the study had been realised. In the pre-
sentation of the results, the original signatures are
seen outlined in green and the reproductions, in red.
The ballpoint pen writing element:
In the signatures with a fine or traced profile, oscilla-
tions are observed in the tracing of their reproduc-
tions and these are more notable in their ascending

más notables en sus porciones ascendentes (Fig. 9).
En cuanto a defectos del trazado, se observó que
cuando las reproducciones se ejecutan a velocidad
lenta, se encontró presencia de esquirlas o cúmulos
en el trazado (Fig. 10).
Cuando se examinaron las firmas de menor pre-
sión, las reproducciones mantuvieron el mismo tra-
zado uniforme a ojo desnudo, presentando similar
conformación (Fig. 11); y en firmas de trazado ma-
gistral no presentaron variación con respecto a su
reproducción; también se observó la presencia del
surcado producido por el elemento escritor (Fig. 12).
Otro punto importante fue que, en firmas originales
con inicios y finales acerados, en sus reproducciones
se observaron mayormente inicios y finales redon-
portions (Fig. 9). Regarding the defects in the tra-
cing, it is observed that when the reproductions are
executed slowly, splinters or smudges were seen in
the outline (Fig. 10).
When the signatures with lower pressure were exa-
mined, the reproductions maintained the same out-
line to the naked eye, presenting a similar formation
(Fig. 11); and in signatures with a masterly outline, no
variation is seen in the reproduction: furrowing, produ-
ced by the writing element, was also observed (Fig. 12).
Another important point was that, in original sig-
natures with sharp beginnings and endings, the
reproductions are seen to have mostly rounded be-
ginnings and endings; the same took place in the
case of harpooned beginnings and endings (Fig. 13).

sencia del trazo (Fig. 16); y en firmas con muchos

Tanto en las firmas originales como en las repro-
ducciones, se observó similitud en cuanto a las
bases del renglón, siendo de similar conformación
(Fig. 18); así como también se apreció similitud con
respecto a la dimensión entre la firma original y su
reproducción, difiriendo solo en uno o dos milíme-
tros entre ellas, siendo casi exactas (Fig. 19).
En las firmas originales y su correspondiente repro-
ducción, se apreció similitud con respecto a la in-
clinación y dirección de sus ejes; presentando una

22). Tomando como referencia la amplitud de los
óvalos y lazos, se apreció que en las firmas origi-
nales y en sus reproducciones se respeta la misma
amplitud del intervalo intergrama (Fig. 23).

tipo perfil o fino, en sus reproducciones se apreció
como magistral o grueso (Fig. 26); y en las firmas
que presentaron menor presión y velocidad, sus re-
producciones mantuvieron dicho trazado uniforme
a simple vista (Fig. 27).
En la mayoría de las firmas que presentaron punto
de ataque del tipo redondeado o recto, en sus re-
producciones presentaron similar punto de ataque,
pero con más difusión de tinta debido al elemento
escritor, en este caso con una Hidrográfica de punta
de fieltro y a la velocidad con la que se realizó la
reproducción; en firmas con punto de ataque ace-
rado dicha reproducción se apreció tipo botón o
pausa. Ocurre lo mismo en la finalización de los ras-
gos finales, las firmas que presentaron finalización
apoyada en su reproducción se apreciaron similar y

sented a typical or fine profile were observed to be
masterly or thick(Fig. 26); and when the signatures
presented lower pressure and velocity, their repro-
duction maintained this outline uniformly to the
uninitiated eye (Fig. 27).
The reproductions were remarked to have a button
or a pause in the majority of signatures that showed
a nib of the rounded or straight type with more ink
diffusion owing to the writing element, and in such
cases a fountain pen with a felt nib had been used at
the velocity with which the reproduction was made;
this also occurred in signatures with a serrated nib.
The same takes place in the finalisation of the final
traits; the signatures that present the finalisation
leaning on its reproduction seemed similar and in
some occasions presented a diffusion of ink in the

mayoría de los casos se apreciaron diferentes con
respecto a sus correspondientes reproducciones;
cabe mencionar que, en firmas con terminaciones
aceradas, en dicha reproducción se apreciaron ter-

bien se presentó una falla en la lectura del progra-
ma del trazo original produciendo un cambio en la
ejecución de la reproducción (Fig. 30).
Las firmas originales y sus reproducciones presen-
taron similitud en la base del renglón (Fig. 31). En
torno a la dimensión, en firmas originales y sus re-
producciones se apreció similar dimensión, obser-
vándose una diferencia de uno o dos milímetros
entre ellas (Fig. 32); y lo mismo ocurrió entre las
firmas originales y sus correspondientes reproduc-

29). A flaw was also seen in the tracing programme
related to the original outline, producing a change in
the execution of the reproduction (Fig. 30).
The original signatures and their reproductions pre-
sented a similarity at the line base (Fig. 31). As for
the dimension, in original signatures and their re-
productions, a similar dimension was seen, and a diffe-
rence of one or two millimetres was observed between
the two (Fig. 32); the same took place with the origi-
nal signatures and their corresponding reproductions,
where a similarity was presented with regard to the di-
rection and inclination of their axes (Fig. 33).

producciones presentaron similar conformación y ubi-
cación (Fig. 35). Tomando como referencia la amplitud
de la ejecución de grama, se apreció que en las firmas
originales y en sus reproducciones se respeta la misma
amplitud del intervalo intergrama (Fig. 36).

CONCLUSIÓN
Con el objetivo de describir las características gráfi-
cas semejantes o diferentes entre las firmas realiza-
das por una persona física y reproducida mediante
un scanner y una Impresora C.N.C X-Y Arduino, con
los mismos elementos escritores y sus respectivos
soportes que permiten la identificación gráfica, o
en su defecto las minuciosidades que delaten este
medio fraudulento. Los resultados encontrados co-
rroboran la hipótesis, que establece la presencia de
modificaciones en las grafos-construcciones, obser-
vándose rigidez en el trazado cuando las firmas ori-
ginales presentan un trazo alterno entre magistral y
perfil, donde en sus reproducciones no se observó
esta alternancia, manteniendo un trazado unifor-
me y continuo. Lo mismo sucedió en las firmas de
menor presión, donde se mantuvo el mismo trazo
uniforme a ojo desnudo; corroborando la hipótesis
con respecto a la uniformidad y rigidez del trazado
producido por un medio mecanizado. Detenciones
a la mitad de una curva o recta, retomas en el tra-
zado, presentando cúmulos o esquirlas en el trazo;
manifestando menor velocidad de ejecución en la
reproducción de la firma. Confirmando así que se
disminuye la velocidad de ejecución en una repro-
ducción mecanizada no pudiendo adquirir el ritmo
de la firma original, produciendo evidencias de las
diferencias de velocidad.
• Se observaron anomalías en los enlaces, produ-
ciéndose cortes en el trazo, donde se observa que
en rasgos muy finos y de poca presión en sus origi-
nales, en las reproducciones no fueron detectados
como un trazo continuo, y en consecuencia de esta
mala lectura, presentaron más tiempos de ejecu-
ción. Esto confirma la hipótesis en cuanto presentar
cortes con respecto al trazado original y a una dife-
rencia en las formas con respecto a su firma original.
• Diferencias en la forma, donde más exclusiva-
mente se observa en inicios y finales de firmas con
bolígrafos. Las firmas originales con inicios y finales
acerados o arponados, sus reproducciones se pre-
sentan, en su mayoría, de manera redondeada; lo
mismo sucede en las reproducciones con una Hi-
drográfica de punta de fieltro, pero con difusión de
tinta en el soporte, en detenciones y finales.
• Diferencia de velocidad, apreciando oscilaciones
CONCLUSION
The objective was describing the similarities and di-
fferences of graphic characteristics in the signatures
made by a human and reproduced through a scanner
or Arduino C.N.C X-Y printer with the same writing
elements and their respective supports that allow
graphic identification, or the defects in the minutiae
that show up in this fraudulent medium. The results
arrived at corroborate the hypothesis that establishes
the presence of modifications in the graph-construc-
tions, observing rigidity in the outline when the ori-
ginal signatures present alterations between master
and profile; where this alteration is not observed in
the reproductions, a uniform and continuous outline
is maintained. The same took place in the signatures
made with lower pressure, where the same outline
was maintained to the naked eye; corroborating the
hypothesis with regard to the uniformity and rigidity
of the outline produced by a mechanised medium.
Detentions at halfway point in the curve or strai-
ght line and retakes in the tracing show smudges or
splinters in the outline; and manifest less velocity of
execution in the reproduction of the signature. Thus
confirming the diminishing velocity of execution in
the mechanised reproduction that cannot acquire
the rhythm of the original signature, producing evi-
dence of the differences in velocity.
• Anomalies are observed in the links, producing
cuts in the outline, where it is observed that in traits
that are very fine and have little pressure in their ori-
ginals, these were not detected as being continuous
strokes in the reproductions; and as a result of this
poor reading, they presented less execution time.
This confirms the hypothesis regarding the original
outline and a difference in forms with regard to the
original signature.
• Differences in form, are most exclusively observed
in the beginnings and endings of the signatures with
a ballpoint pen. The majority of original signatures
with beginnings and endings that were serrated or
pointed are seen to be rounder in their reproduc-
tions; the same takes place with the reproduction
using a hydrographic writing element with a felt nib
but with an ink diffusion in the support, in deten-
tions and in the endings.
• Differences in velocity were seen, taking into ac-

de un puño escritor. En a las vibraciones del trazo

la máquina, lo que se podría corregir en un instru-
mento de menores dimensiones.
• Se observó una presión uniforme del elemento
escritor por la monotonía constante del trazado al
no presentar trazos perfiles alternos, complemen-
tando el punto anterior donde se aprecia una ve-
locidad más lenta a la firma original, lo que genera
una modificación en el gesto gráfico.
• En nuestro estudio del análisis de las formas de
las grafo-construcciones, se observó que cuando sus
inicios y finales son redondeados, sus reproduccio-
nes son muy similares a las originales generando
una problemática en estas firmas, las que serían más
susceptibles a ser falsificadas y pasar desapercibidas.
• Con respecto a la presión se corroboró que en las
reproducciones de trazo magistral, no se presen-
taron variaciones con respecto a su firma original,
observándose la presencia del surcado producido
por el elemento escritor bolígrafo, lo que se contra-
pone a la hipótesis que establecía.
• Se apreció similitud en cuanto a la dirección, di-
mensión e inclinación, entre la firma original y su
reproducción; como así también con respecto a la
conformación de la base del renglón, refutando la
hipótesis establecida en el estudio.
• Como parte importante del gesto gráfico, se co-
rroboró la similitud en amplitud de óvalos, lazos y
amplitud del intervalo intergrama de las reproduc-
ciones con respecto a sus originales.
• Otra característica destacable fue que se obser-

tura del trazo original como en el caso del elemen-
to escritor con una Hidrográfica de punta de fieltro,
donde se enlazan a diferentes gramas, produciendo
diferentes tiempos de ejecución al original.

and endings are rounded, the reproductions are very
similar to the originals, generating problems in the-
se signatures which would be more susceptible to be
falsified and go unperceived.
• With regard to the pressure, it was corroborated
that in the reproduction of the masterly outline, va-
riations were not presented in accordance with its
original signature, and the presence of furrowing
produced by the ballpoint writing element was ob-
served and this counters the established hypothesis.
• A similarity was seen with regard to the direction,
dimension and inclination between the original sig-
nature and its reproduction; and also concerning the
formation of line base, refuting the hypothesis esta-
blished in the study.
• As an important part of the graphic gesture, the
similarity in the amplitude of ovals, links and their
amplitude was corroborated in the inter-gram inter-
val of the reproductions with regard to the originals.
• Another outstanding characteristic was the ob-
servation of a similar formation of links, maintai-
ning the same execution of loops and angles in the
reproduction with regard to the originals. This does
not corroborate the hypothesis where an anomaly
of links is established, bringing about this situation
only at times by a flaw in the reading of the original
as in the case of the writing element which is Hy-
drographic with a felt nib where the links are made
with different grams, producing execution times that
differ from the original.

ten reproducciones donde las características son

Luego del estudio realizado y los resultados obte-
nidos en la investigación para ambos elementos
escritores, se corroboró la hipótesis en cuanto a la
conformación de las reproducciones de las firmas
originales, donde se apreciaron muchas similitudes
en el aspecto estructural, en cuanto a dimensión,
dirección, e inclinación; pero no así en cuanto a
presión y velocidad, donde es notable las diferen-
cias produciendo defectos de ejecución.
En cuanto a su conformación formal o particularida-
des, donde presentaron una similar ejecución a ojo
desnudo, como ser la base del renglón o posiciones
de signos de puntuación, pero no bajo a microscopio;
donde se apreciaron diferencias en cuanto a puntos
de ataque, remates finales, y ejecución de trazos, que
produce mucha divergencia en el gesto gráfico.
A razón de los resultados alcanzados si se presentara
pericialmente un caso de estas características, sería
complicado diferenciar un original de su reproducción.
Desde este punto de vista se puede hacer la obser-
vación que realizando correcciones mínimas sobre los
vectores en los pasos de digitalización, donde se pro-
ducen al observar divergencias en las particularidades
y tomando una muestra más acotada; o bien utili-
zando un dispositivo de menores dimensiones y más
preciso, podrían obtenerse falsificaciones mucho más
aproximadas a sus originales; siendo esto una dificul-
tad a futuro en el reconocimiento de una falsificación
de estas características por medio de una impresora
CNC X-Y Arduino, por ser estas tecnologías cada vez
• It is also necessary to mention a very important
peculiarity regarding the formal analysis of the sig-
natures encompassing punctuation signs and ac-
cents. Here it was observed that between the origi-
nal signatures and their reproductions with both the
writing elements, a similar formation and placement
were presented; this could be a problem when recog-
nising a reproduction with the naked eye.
These results specify the characteristics that reveal
the mechanical falsification process as they show a
lack of spontaneity in their execution because it can
be seen that they were done slowly; this suggests
that the writing was not done freely and naturally.
However, there are reproductions where the charac-
teristics are very similar but not exact and this would
pass as proof of superposition that would be eviden-
ce of falsification by mechanical copying.
Following the study and the results obtained with
the two writing elements, the hypothesis on the
formation of the reproduction of the original signa-
tures was corroborated where many similarities in
the structural aspect appeared related to dimension,
direction and inclination; but it was not so with refe-
rence to pressure and velocity where the differences
producing flaws in execution are noteworthy.
With regard to the formal formation or particulari-
ties, which presented similar execution to the naked
eye; for instance, at the line base or positions of
punctuation signs, though not under a microscope;
where differences related to points of attack, endings
and the execution of outlines that produce much di-
vergence in the graphic gesture appeared.
Because of the results obtained, if a case with these
characteristics is presented, it would be difficult to
differentiate the original from its reproduction.
From this point of view, the observation can be made
that, making minimal corrections on the vectors of
the digitalisation steps where divergences are obser-
ved in the particularities taking a reduced sample; or
using a device of lesser dimensions that is more pre-
cise, falsifications could be obtained that were much
closer to the originals; this being a future difficulty
in the recognition of a falsification of these characte-
ristics using a Arduino CNC X-Y printer, these being
technologies that are increasingly advanced, accessi-
ble and precise.

instruida en la disciplina de la Documentología. Por
esto, ante la presencia de una escritura o firma a
peritar y, debido al gran parecido formal o extrínse-
co que se logra con este equipamiento informático,
el perito siempre debe profundizar en el estudio de
las características intrínsecas en escrituras y firmas.

today, can be more precise and imperceptible for an
uninstructed human in the discipline that is Docu-
ment ology. Thus, when confronted with writing or a
signature that needs to be studied expertly, owing to
the great formal or extrinsic resemblance that is at-
tained with this computerised equipment, the expert
must always make an in-depth study of the intrinsic
characteristics in writing and signatures.
