Because microwave satellites pass over any one location on Earth every few hours, it can be difficult to determine from these
products what the time changes in rainfall rates were at a specific location. The peak rate seemed to be at least 10 mm/h in the
band of rain when it was both west and east of our location of interest, but the peak rates were not continuous, so it’s unclear if
precipitation rates over the forecast point were of that magnitude. The products suggest that the southwest-northeast band
moved through between the two times of the imagery, but we can not be sure when or if it was a steady progression from one
time step to the next.
