György Marik Juscas, más conocido como 

Jorge Marik (Budapest, Hungría, 4 de
abril de 1930), es un exfutbolista y ex entrenador de fútbol húngaro radicado en México.

Futbolista
Jugó en la segunda mitad de la década de 1940 en el Vasas de Budapest. Durante este
periodo también jugó dos partidos internacionales con la selección nacional húngara, en 1947
y 1948. Salió de su país en 1949 junto conLadislao Kubala y en 1950 hizo parte del equipo de
emigrados "Hungaria". Luego jugó en Colombia, en 1951 y 1952 en Samarios y en 1953
en Santa Fe de Bogotá. En 1954 viajó a México contratado por un año por el Irapuato;
finalmente en la temporada 1955-56 jugó en el Club León de Guanajuato, donde salió
campeón de liga y ganó también el trofeo de Campeón de
Jorge Marik Campeones.2 Entonces se retiró como jugador y después se
convirtió en entrenador.

llegar a México, recordando entre otros a Szigfrid Rótquien

19761 para suplir a José Moncebáez, llegando hasta cuartos de final de ese torneo. Se retiró al
finalizar la temporada 1981-82 con el Toluca.

György Marik, mejor conocido como Jorge, llegó en los años 60s y en la temporada 61-62 fue
cuando Cruz Azul lo contrató para dirigirlos en la Segunda División.
Ascendió al Cruz Azul el 19 de enero de 1964 después de ese 7-1 al equipo Zamora y en la
Primera División lo dirigió hasta 1966, donde dejó las bases y un muy buen plantel con grandes
jugadores, algunos, oriundos de la tierra hidalguense y otros más de varias partes de la República.
Además, Jorge Marik dirigió a conjuntos de la Primera División como Pumas y Toluca, a Pumas lo
hizo campeón en la temporada 76-77. Regresó a Cruz Azul en la temporada 75-76 para suplir a
José Moncebáez, realizando 23 partidos y llevando a la escuadra Celeste a los Cuartos de Final de
esa temporada.
El estratega húngaro nació en Budapest un 4 de abril de 1930 y dejó de dirigir cuando estaba cerca
de cumplir los 60 años y lo hizo en el futbol mexicano.  

After the commies took over in Eastern Europe (Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia etc) in
1948, many hungarian footballers decided to leave Hungary and start a new life abroad. As they were
banned for life by their national FA and their ban was also extended by FIFA for 2 years, they couldnt
return back to Hungary neither to play competitive games abroad for long 2 years. In order of
surviving those 2 years and keep themselves in form, they formed in 1949 in Italy irregular
demonstrative team of exulants based in refugee camp Cinecittá (near Rome). They gained good
reputation by playing friendlies and it didnt take long time when they got noticed outside of Italy. In
1950, team Hungaria FcB, or I.R.O squadra ( IRO = International Refugee Organization) how they
were called by italian media, got invitations to abroad. In June 1950 team led by their major superstar
Kubala visited Spain, in later in November/December 1950 visited Colombia.

This thread is dedicated to the palyers and this team, which was later expanded by ethnic hungarians
from Romania, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, and joined even by non-Hungarians.

When the communists consolidated their

power and took over the government, he (Kubala) paid some smugglers to take him to
Italy. There he and some other players formed a team called Hungaria and
played exhibition matches. The team was comprised of Hungarians who were
living in the areas that were reunited with pre-war countries, Transylvania,
Carpatho-Ukraine, Southern Slovakia, Vojvodina, etc. They beat Real Madrid
4-2 in Madrid, beat the Spanish national team that was preparing for the
1950 WC, and Espanyol. That was the best match Kuksi played, and observers
from Barcelona were in the stands. So they offered him a contract, which he
signed on June 15, 1950.

looks like old man confused the results, team Hungaria lost all three matches.

Edit 1: Hungaria played two games vs Espanyol, one loss one win.
Edit 2: Hungaria played vs Spain twice, 1 win and 1 loss.

György Marik who was in Columbia with Zsengellér later signed to Leon in Mexico and won mexican
championship with them. then coached a couple of mexican teams, (Atlante, Cruz Azul, Laguna,
Pumas, Toluca), interestingly it is only mentioned in german wiki, nothing on hungarian one. it seems
he is still alive but they seem not be sure. should be 88 years now.

German wiki entry say he was born in 1924, April 4th. Shame wiki is focusing just on his coaching
career.
