Actividad de práctica 1.3: Formas verbales del presente: “Present Simple” y “Present Progressive”
Lee detenidamente las reglas de uso de los tiempos gramáticas del presente simple y el presente progresivo;
cuando tengas claro el uso de cada uno, resuelve las practicas 1 y 2
Aunque la forma simple y progresiva del presente existen también en castellano (por ejemplo en
yo trabajo y yo estoy trabajando), estas formas no cubren los mismos valores que sus correspondientes en
inglés, por lo tanto es necesario limitar los paralelismos. Una de las diferencias más destacables es el hecho
de que el progresivo en castellano no es obligatorio y se pude sustituir, en general, por la forma simple del
presente. En inglés, el progresivo tiene una serie de valores propios y no es intercambiable con la forma
simple.
b.Cuando las situaciones son rutinarias (las cosas que hacemos todo los días, como nuestro trabajo, nuestro
estudios etc.) Sin adverbio de frecuencia.
1) Para referirnos a situaciones que ocurren en el momento en el que hablamos (por ejemplo, situaciones
que podemos ver u oír). Por este motivo esta forma suele estar acompañada de adverbios de tiempo
como now o at the moment.

2) Para hablar de situaciones que son temporales. Estas situaciones son más largas que el momento en que
hablamos y ocurren en un periodo de tiempo limitado.

Está indicado por adverbios de tiempo (this week/month/year, for (six weeks), currently, nowadays etc.)
I live in Barcelona but this week I’m living with my aunt in Paris

Simple or the Present Continuous. Fíjate en el complemento de la oración si sucede en ese momento ( at
the moment o now es continuo; si sucede very often, everyday ,at 7:00 o´clock es presente simple
Practica A:Escríbe el tiempo verbal correcto en las siguientes frases. Fíjate en el ejemplo resuelto:

10. She _comes_ from Chile, though she _lives_ in New York just now. (come) / (live)

Pon los verbos entre paréntesis en la forma del presente correcta decide si debe ser Present Simple o
Present Progressive. Esta vez el reto es mayor pueden ser frases afirmativas, negativas o interrogativas.
Fíjate en los ejemplos ya resueltos y en lo aprendido anteriormente :

a lot to Paris for his job. He __works_ (work) for a computer company and he really __enjoys__ (enjoy) it.
Tom: Yes, he still _lives__ (live) with us, but this week he __is staying__ (stay) in his girlfriend's flat. They
would like to buy a house together but they _ don´t know_ (not know) where.
