 ¿QUÉ ES EL VERBO TO BE?
Es uno de los principales verbos en inglés. El significado en español
del verbo to be es «ser» o «estar» en la mayoría de los casos, y el uso de uno
u otro en este idioma dependerá de lo que se quiera comunicar. 

FUNCIÓN DEL VERBO TO BE

 COMO VERBO ORDINARIO

Sirve para dar información sobre el sujeto. Tiene algunos usos
especiales distintos del español:
 1 Expresar la edad, altura, medida, peso, forma y color.
 Expresar sensaciones (equivale al verbo tener en español).
  Hablar del tiempo atmosférico (equivale al verbo hacer en español).

 COMO VERBO AUXILIAR

 Para formar los tiempos continuos o progresivos.
 Para formar la voz pasiva.
 Be + infinitive para dar órdenes de forma impersonal o
comunicar planes.
 Be + going como forma de expresar futuro. Se traduce como ir a, estar
a punto de, tener la intención de...

 NEGATIVA
