Descripción:

Ilustrar la manera cómo la teoría puede iluminar, problematizar (en un buen sentido) y
enriquecer en general la manera en que nos aproximamos a la literatura infantil y juvenil
como tal.

4. Estrategias pedagógicas:
El curso combinará la cátedra magistral con discusiones en grupo acerca de las lecturas y temas
correspondientes a cada sesión. Para facilitar este proceso y ayudar a los estudiantes a desarrollar
habilidades para manejar este tipo de material, se les pedirá la elaboración de un protocolo de
lectura para cada sesión de clase en el que seleccionen 3 pasajes de los textos asignados y
reflexionen brevemente sobre ellos.
Aunque el énfasis de la clase es claramente teórico, se buscará también ilustrar y aplicar lo
aprendido mediante la lectura y análisis de textos infantiles y juveniles.
Los estudiantes presentarán dos ensayos: Uno a la mitad del semestre (6-8 páginas, doble espacio,
letra 12), en el que expliquen, discutan y asuman una posición crítica frente a la idea de que la
literatura para niños no está necesariamente dirigida a una audiencia infantil “real” (ver Nodelman,
Rose y Zipes, entre otros); y uno al final del curso (8-10 páginas, doble espacio, letra 12) en el que
usen alguno(s) de los referentes teóricos vistos en clase, para analizar cómo un texto para niños o
jóvenes de su elección (novela, cuento(s) o libro-álbum) ilustra, transforma o cuestiona alguno(s) de
los elementos formales y temáticos característicos de la literatura infantil y juvenil en general. Este
segundo ensayo deberá ir acompañado además de una breve presentación para hacer en clase el
día de la entrega final.
