PASADOS

“My childhood”
I am Mario and I am 35 years old. Yesterday my son Louis interviewed me to do his homework. I
had to tell him about my childhood, so I began my story.

“I started to study one year after my 6th birthday. I loved going to school and sharing with my
friends and neighbors. This was my life when I was a child. First of all, I got up at 6.00 a.m.
because I studied in the morning. I had my breakfast every day before going to school. In the
afternoon, after I finished my homework and helped my mother with the dishes after having
lunch, I played with my neighbors in the street. We sang our favorite songs and watched
cartoons together. We really enjoyed running around the yard when it rained.
One day I fell down my bike and broke my leg. I was in hospital for a week. It was an awful
experience because I couldn’t play with my friends for many days, but they visited me after
school. Sometimes we played bingo or just watched some movies together. When we grew up
some of them moved to another city and I felt sad, but after some years I found them on
Facebook, so now we talk to each other whenever we want.”

Underline all the verbs in past tense in the text.

TEMA/ESTRUCTURA VERBOS REGULARES E IRREGULARES

Regulares

CLEAN COOK WASH DO HOUSEWORK

DO THE DISHES DO HOMEWORK DO THE SHOPPING MAKE BREAKFAST

MAKE LUNCH WATER THE PLANTS MAKE THE BED MAKE DINNER

 Need to
 Have to
 like to
 don’t like to
 hate to

Ejemplos:

 At work, I need to be on time to prepare all the appointments ofthe day.

 Mary has to file all the documents everyday.

 I don’t like to be late because I want the extra bonus at the end of the year.

 I hate to eat in the office.

TEMA/ESTRUCTURA PREPOSICIONES DE LUGAR: IN, ON, IN FRONT
OF, NEXT TO, BEHIND, UNDER, AT, OPPOSITE

PASADO SIMPLE

 She cleaned her house.

 Ella limpió su casa.
 I broke the window.
 Yo rompí la ventana.

Estructura

 Did she clean her house?

 Did you break the window?

En las negaciones se utiliza DID NOT o DIDN’T.

 She didn’t clean her house.

 I didn’t break the window.

you, he, she, it, we, they).
Ejemplos:
learn → learned Ejemplos:
stay → stayed change → changed
walk → walked believe → believed
show → showed

una “i”.
Ejemplos: pasado.
study → studied Have → Had
try → tried Write → Wrote
Speak → Spoke
