Construction information modeling (BIM) is transforming the way we work in architecture,
engineering and construction. (AEC) , where BIM offers ample opportunities to improve
performance. Therefore, BIM is an area of great interest in the AEC industry in general
and for the field of structural engineering in particular. This paper aims to provide a broad
picture of published articles that relate BIM to structural engineering; projects are also
increasingly large and complex, as well as more detailed and data-based. Since project
teams are located in many different offices or even in countries, it is necessary to be able to
share and access data quickly and easily at any time. Similarly, the use of manual methods
for repetitive project requirements is an inefficient and time-consuming design method,
even with the time and cost required for these project-integrated processes, can be a
frustrating and discouraging way to work. Implementing a modern and optimized design
approach can therefore potentially help attract and retain the best talent, as well as help
them work more efficiently.
