el adjetivo sostenible refiere a algo que está en condiciones de conservarse o

reproducirse por sus propias características, sin necesidad de intervención o
apoyo externo. el término puede aplicarse sobre diversas cuestiones: métodos
productivos, procesos económicos, etc.
cuando se habla de desarrollo sostenible, por ejemplo, se está haciendo mención
a la posibilidad de lograr que una región crezca a partir de la explotación de sus
recursos, sin que dicha explotación lleve a poner en riesgo la existencia futura de
los recursos en cuestión. el desarrollo sostenible también contempla que el
crecimiento se consiga sin injerencia del exterior.

IMPORTANCIA DE LA AUTOSOSTENIBILIDAD

un medio más sostenible debe tener en cuenta el ciclo de vida completo del
edificio, desde su concepción hasta su demolición y para cada una de estas 4
etapas (producción, construcción, uso y fin de vida) este concepto se desarrolla en
tres niveles:

1.- cuidando el planeta: a través de un uso eficiente de recursos naturales

de energía y reduciendo el impacto ambiental, la contaminación y la generación de
residuos.

2.- cuidando de las personas: a través de productos, sistemas y soluciones que

mejoran nuestro bienestar, salud, comodidad y seguridad.

3.- cuidando también la prosperidad económica: estos sistemas y soluciones

deben conducir a inversiones asumibles, a reducción de los costos de explotación
(energía y mantenimiento), al aumento de valor de las propiedades.
 BENEFICIOS DEL DESARROLLO SOSTENIBLE

el principal beneficio que tiene el desarrollo sustentable es según su propia

definición, asegurar las necesidades presentes sin comprometer las necesidades
futuras. no debemos olvidar que actualmente la situación ambiental, es bastante
complicada. con el calentamiento global, el deterioro de la capa de ozono, o la
disminución de hielo en los polos. por no hablar del deterioro sufrido por los
ecosistemas. por todo ello garantizar el futuro de las siguientes generaciones es
sin duda el principal beneficio del desarrollo sustentable. pero el desarrollo
sostenible supone además otra serie de beneficios para el conjunto de la
sociedad.

DEFINITION NOT SUSTAINABLE

The adjective sustainable refers to something that is capable of being preserved or

reproduced due to its own characteristics, without the need for intervention or
external support. the term can be applied to various issues: production methods,
economic processes, etc.

When talking about sustainable development, for example, mention is being made
of the possibility of making a region grow from the exploitation of its resources,
without such exploitation leading to jeopardizing the future existence of the
resources in question. sustainable development also contemplates that growth is
achieved without interference from outside.

IMPORTANCE OF SELF-SUSTAINABILITY

A more sustainable environment must take into account the complete life cycle of
the building, from its conception to its demolition and for each of these 4 stages
(production, construction, use and end of life) this concept is developed on three
levels:

1.- taking care of the planet: through efficient use of natural energy resources and
reducing environmental impact, pollution and waste generation.

2.- taking care of people: through products, systems and solutions that improve our
well-being, health, comfort and safety.

3.- also taking care of economic prosperity: these systems and solutions must lead
to affordable investments, a reduction in operating costs (energy and
maintenance), and an increase in the value of properties.
BENEFITS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The main benefit of sustainable development is according to its own definition,

ensuring present needs without compromising future needs. We must not forget
that currently the environmental situation is quite complicated. with global warming,
the deterioration of the ozone layer, or the reduction of ice at the poles. not to
mention the deterioration suffered by ecosystems. Therefore, guaranteeing the
future of future generations is undoubtedly the main benefit of sustainable
development. but sustainable development also entails another series of benefits
for society as a whole.
