1. Sea la transformación lineal 𝑇: 𝑃1 → 𝑃1 definida por 𝑇(𝑎 + 𝑏𝑥) = (4𝑎 − 2𝑏) + (𝑏 − 2𝑎)𝑥
Indique qué polinomios pertenecen al núcleo:
a) 1 + 2𝑥
b) 2 + 𝑥
c) −2 − 4𝑥
Solución
Para que 𝑎 + 𝑏𝑥 esté en el núcleo, debe cumplirse que 𝑇(𝑎 + 𝑏𝑥) = 0
a. 𝑇(1 + 2𝑥) = (4(1) − 2(2)) + ((2) − 2(1))𝑥 = 0 + 0𝑥 = 0➔ 1 + 2𝑥 si está en el núcleo.
b. 𝑇(2 + 1𝑥) = (4(2) − 2(1)) + ((1) − 2(2))𝑥 = 6 − 3𝑥 ≠ 0➔ 2 + 𝑥 no está en el núcleo.
c. 𝑇(−2 − 4𝑥) = (4(−2) − 2(−4)) + ((−4) − 2(−2))𝑥 = 0 ➔−2 − 4𝑥 si está en el núcleo.

a. ¿𝑡 3 + 𝑡 2 + 𝑡 + 1 está en el núcleo de T?
b. ¿2𝑡 3 + 1 está en la imagen de T?
c. Determine el núcleo de T y la dimensión de Img(T).
Solución:
a. Observamos que 𝑇(𝟏𝑡 3 + 𝟏𝑡 2 + 𝟏𝑡 + 𝟏) = (1 − 1)𝑡 3 + (1 − 1)𝑡 = 0.
El polinomio 𝑡 3 + 𝑡 2 + 𝑡 + 1 si está en el núcleo de T.
𝑇(𝑎𝑡 3 + 𝑏𝑡 2 + 𝑐𝑡 + 𝑑) = 0
(𝑎 − 𝑏)𝑡 3 + (𝑐 − 𝑑)𝑡 = 0
Igualando coeficientes a cero
𝑎 = 𝑏 ;𝑐 = 𝑑
Solución:
Para determinar el núcleo hacemos 𝑇 (𝑦𝑥 ) = 0, de aquí
x+(𝑥 + 𝑦)𝑡 = 0 + 0𝑡 → 𝑥 = 0 ; 𝑥 + 𝑦 = 0 → 𝑥 = 0 ; 𝑦 = 0
0 + 𝐷𝑖𝑚(𝐼𝑚(𝑇)) = 2 → 𝐷𝑖𝑚(𝐼𝑚(𝑇)) = 2
