Chacarera de los gatos

Tres morrongos elegantes
de bastón galera y guantes,
dando muchas volteretas
prepararon sus maletas.
Miau, miau, miau, miau
michi michi miau
Toda la ratonería
preguntó con picardía:
"Michifuces, ¿dónde van?"
"Nos vamos a Tucumán."
Miau, miau, miau, miau
michi michi miau
Pues les han pasado el dato
que hay concurso para gato.
Los tres michis allá van
en tranvía a Tucumán.
Con cautela muy gatuna
cruzan la Mate de Luna,
y se tiran de cabeza
al Concurso de Belleza.
Mas como el concurso era
para Gato y Chacarera,
los echaron del salón
sin ninguna explicación.
Miau, miau, miau, miau
michi michi miau
Volvieron poco después
las galeras al revés
con abrojos en el pelo
y las colas por el suelo.
Miau, miau, miau, miau
michi michi miau
Le maullaron la verdad
a toda la vecindad:
"Tucumán es feo y triste
porque el gato allá no existe."
Los ratones escucharon
y enseguida se marcharon.
Los ratones allá van
en tranvía a Tucumán.
Chacarera of the cats

Three elegant cats
with cane, top hat and gloves,
giving many cartwheels
packed their bags.
Meow meow meow meow
michi michi miau
All the mice
asked mischievously:
"Cats, where are you going?"
"We're going to Tucumán."
Meow meow meow meow
michi michi miau
They were told
that there´s a cat contest,
so the three cats there they go
by tram to Tucumán.
With very catlike caution
they cross the Moon Mate,
and they jump head first
into the Beauty Contest.
But as the contest was
for “Cat and Chacarera”,
they were kicked out of the room
without any explanation.
Meow meow meow meow
michi michi miau
They returned shortly after
with the top hats upside down,
with thorns in the hair
and the tails on the floor.

michi michi miau
They meowed the truth
to the whole neighborhood:
"Tucumán is ugly and sad
because the cat there does not exist. "
The mice listened
and they left immediately.
The mice there they go
by tram to Tucumán.
