BLOWERPROOF LIQUID BRUSH
Base acuosa, aplicación líquida, revestimiento flexible hermético con excelente adhesión en diferentes
sustratos; aplicado mediante brocha.
DESCRIPCIÓN BLOWERPROOF LIQUID BRUSH es una pasta basada en polímeros, sin COVs, que se aplica mediante brocha y una vez
seca se convierte en un revestimiento flexible hermético con gran adhesión en distintos sustratos. Este producto
está listo para usar y puede aplicarse tanto vertical como horizontalmente.

APLICACIÓN PREVIO A LA APLICACIÓN:

» Eliminar las eflorescencias, polvo y partículas de mayor tamaño de la superficie; eliminar también otros tipos de
polución que pudieran afectar negativamente a la adhesión. Eliminar agua estancada.
» Rellenar agujeros y juntas > 5mm con un mortero rico en cemento de fraguado rápido o espuma de poliuretano
» No aplicar BLOWERPROOF LIQUID BRUSH con temperaturas ambientales inferiores a 5ºC, tampoco si la temperatura
de superficie de aplicación es inferior a 5ºC.
» La aplicación sobre superficies húmedas, está permitida siempre que no tenga depósitos de agua.
APLICACIÓN
» BLOWERPROOF LIQUID BRUSH está listo para su aplicación, agitar antes de usarlo. No disolverlo con agua o disolventes.
» Aplicar con brocha plana, disponible para pinturas en base acuosa. Aplicar en dos capas. Rendimiento mínimo total 0.5
kg/m2
» Limpiar tanto los pinceles como las herramientas empleadas con agua.
» Evitar el contacto con agua u otro tipo de líquidos empleados para la construcción durante el período de secado.
» Es necesario un complete secado antes de la aplicación de cualquier otro producto sobre BLOWERPROOF LIQUID
BRUSH (tales como yeso). El tiempo de secado sufre fuertes variaciones dependiendo de las condiciones del local y del
soporte. Alrededor de 24 a 48 horas.

APPLICATION PREVIO A LA APLICACIÓN

» Eliminar posibles eflorescencias, polvo, partículas y depósitos de agua
» Aplicar sobre una superficie continua. Si fuera necesario rellenar agujeros y juntas con cemento rápido o
espuma
de poliuretano; aplicar BLOWERPROOF LIQUID BRUSH sobre agujeros o juntas inferiores a 5mm.
» No aplicar BLOWERPROOF a temperaturas inferiores a 5·C (comprobar la temperatura de la superficie de
aplicación)
» La aplicación sobre superficies húmedas está permitida, pero se ha de eliminar previamente los depósitos de
agua.
APLICACIÓN
» BLOWERPROOF LIQUID está listo para su uso, antes de su empleo agitar para asegurar la mezcla homogénea.
No diluirlo con agua o disolventes.

Los encuentros de Suelo - Muro son un área vital para sellar con el fin de cumplir altos niveles de hermeticidad, una vez

Technical Specification
1 Description
1.1 Blowerproof Liquid Brush is a VOC-free, liquid-applied, water-based coating that dries to form a flexible membrane
that is used to reduce uncontrolled air infiltration from or into a building.
1.2 Other items or components which may be used with the product, but which are outside the scope of this
Certificate, are:
 spray foam or cementitious fillers, for sealing large cracks.
Details of suitable products/specifications may be obtained from the Certificate holder.
2 Manufacture
2.1 The product is manufactured by a typical batch process.
2.2 As part of the assessment and ongoing surveillance of product quality, the BBA has:
 agreed with the manufacturer the quality control procedures and product testing to be undertaken
 assessed and agreed the quality control operated over batches of incoming materials
 monitored the production process and verified that it is in accordance with the documented process
 evaluated the process for management of nonconformities
 checked that equipment has been properly tested and calibrated
 undertaken to carry out the above measures on a regular basis through a surveillance process, to verify that the
specifications and quality control operated by the manufacturer are being maintained.
3 Delivery and site handling

3.1 The product is delivered to site in 5 kg pails on pallets, maximum 60 pails per pallet. The product can also be
supplied in 2.5 kg, 310 ml and 600 ml packs if required.
3.2 Each pail is labelled with product name, pack weight, company name, batch number and brief installation
instructions.

3.3 The product should be stored at a temperature between 5°C and 20°C in dry conditions and out of direct sunlight.
When stored in unopened containers, in accordance with the Certificate holder’s instructions, the product will have a
shelf life of 12 months.
3.4 The Certificate holder has taken the responsibility of classifying and labelling the product under the CLP Regulation
(EC) No 1272 / 2008 on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures. Users must refer to the
relevant Safety Data Sheet(s).
Assessment and Technical Investigations

The following is a summary of the assessment and technical investigations carried out on Blowerproof Liquid Brush.
Design Considerations
4 Use
4.1 Blowerproof Liquid Brush is satisfactory for use internally as a membrane, to reduce the uncontrolled air infiltration
from or into a building.
4.2 The product can be used to reduce air permeability on or at:
 air permeable walls, eg block walls

 floor/wall connections
 wall/roof connections
 wall/wall connections
 window frame/wall connections
 penetrations.
4.3 Airtightness sealing of large areas, eg block walls, should be carried out using Blowerproof Liquid, the subject of
Product Sheet 1 of this Certificate.
4.4 Existing elements must be clean, dry and in a good state of repair prior to the application of the product.
4.5 The product is applied by brush at an application rate of between 0.8 and 1.0 kg·m-2 resulting in a dry film thickness
of between 0.4 and 0.5 mm.
4.6 The product once fully dry can be finished by painting, plastering or enclosed behind internal linings. The Certificate
holder must be consulted for suitable compatible products.
5 Practicability of installation
The product is designed to be installed by a contractor experienced with this type of product.
6 Air permeability
The product will reduce uncontrolled air infiltration from or into a building and will therefore reduce
heat loss through elements and junctions.
7 Water vapour resistance

7.1 Typically the water vapour diffusion equivalent air layer thicknesses (sd)(1) of the cured, unaged product with a
thickness of 0.5 mm, can be taken as 18 m.

7.2 The water vapour resistance of the product will vary, depending on the relative humidity difference across it. A
condensation risk analysis should be carried out prior to use of the product.
8 Resistance to mechanical damage

8.1 The product has satisfactory resistance to damage and will resist the minor movements likely to occur in service
without damage.
8.2 Where large relative movements between construction elements are possible, such as in timber-frame
construction, the advice of the Certificate holder should be sought.
9 Properties in relation to fire

The product, brush-applied to a 12 mm thick calcium silicate panel of density 870 kg·m3, achieved a reaction-to-fire
classification of E to BS EN 13501-1 : 2007.
10 Adhesion
10.1 The product has satisfactory adhesion to the following substrates:
 concrete
 lightweight concrete block
 red brick
 aluminium
 steel
 wood
 plaster
 EPDM membrane
 PVC-U.
10.2 The adhesion on other substrates should be confirmed by test.
11 Maintenance
As the product is confined within the structure and has suitable durability (see section 12), maintenance is not required.
However, any damage to the membrane should be repaired before enclosing into the structure (see section 15).
12 Durability
Under normal conditions of use, the product has satisfactory durability and will have a life equal to that
of the element onto which it is installed.
Installation
13 General
13.1 Installation of Blowerproof Liquid Brush must be in accordance with the Certificate holder’s instructions.
13.2 Surfaces must be free from salt efflorescence, dust and other loose particles or any other contamination that
could affect the adhesion of the product. The product can be applied to lightly damp surfaces but must not be applied
where there is standing water.
13.3 Existing holes and cracks must be sealed with a cementitious filler or polyurethane spray foam. Small holes and
cracks up to 5 mm can be sealed with the product.

13.4 The product must not be applied when the air or substrate temperature is <5°C.
14 Procedure
14.1 The product is applied to the prepared substrate by brush, to achieve a wet film thickness of between 800 and
1000 µm.
14.2 The applied coating thickness should be checked using a wet film gauge and the application checked for complete
coverage.
14.3 The drying time will depend on the substrate as well as the ambient temperature and relative humidity. Typically
the product will be dry 24 to 48 hours after application.
15 Repair
Any damaged coating must be repaired prior to enclosure. Minor damage to the dry product can be repaired by
reapplying the product over the damaged area, as described in sections 14.1 and 14.2. Where major damage has
occurred, the damaged section must be cut out and the membrane reapplied, ensuring a minimum 50 mm overlap onto
sound material.
Technical Investigations

16.1 Tests were carried out to establish:
 IR spectroscopy
 thermogravimetric analysis
 resistance to fatigue
 tensile strength/elongation.
17 Investigations
17.1 An assessment was made of test reports from independent test laboratories relating to:
 reaction to fire
 air permeability
 adhesion to substrates
 water vapour resistance
17.2 A visit was made to an established installation in Belgium to witness airtightness testing and to assess the
product’s performance in service. The assessed building was an office building that was tested at the end of the
construction phase and after three years, meeting the passive house requirements for air permeability in both cases.
17.3 The manufacturing process was evaluated, including the methods adopted for quality control, and details were
obtained of the quality and composition of the materials used.

3.3 The product should be stored at a temperature between 5°C and 20°C, in dry conditions and out of direct sunlight.
When stored in unopened containers, in accordance with the Certificate holder’s instructions, the product will have a
shelf life of 12 months.
3.4 The Certificate holder has taken the responsibility of classifying and labelling the product under the CLP Regulation
(EC) No 1272 / 2008 on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures. Users must refer to the
relevant Safety Data Sheet(s).
Assessment and Technical Investigations

The following is a summary of the assessment and technical investigations carried out on Blowerproof Liquid.
Design Considerations
4 Use
4.1 Blowerproof Liquid is satisfactory for use internally as a membrane, to reduce the uncontrolled air infiltration from
or into a building.
4.2 The product can be used to reduce air permeability on or at:
 air permeable walls, eg block walls

 floor/wall intersections
 wall/roof intersections.
4.3 Airtightness sealing between window frames and walls or at penetrations, eg pipes or cables, should be carried out
using Blowerproof Liquid Brush, the subject of Product Sheet 2 of this Certificate.
4.4 Existing elements must be clean, dry and in a good state of repair prior to the application of the product.
4.5 The product is applied using airless spray equipment or by roller at an application rate of between 0.8 and
1.0 kg·m-2 in two or more passes resulting in a dry film thickness of between 0.4 and 0.5 mm
4.6 The product once fully dry can be finished by painting, plastering or enclosed behind internal linings. The Certificate
holder must be consulted for suitable compatible products.
5 Practicability of installation
The product is designed to be installed by a contractor experienced with this type of product.
6 Air permeability
The product will reduce uncontrolled air infiltration from or into a building and will therefore reduce
heat loss through elements and junctions.
7 Water vapour resistance

7.1 The water vapour resistance of the product varies with the relative humidity conditions across it. The water vapour
diffusion equivalent air layer thicknesses (sd) of the cured, unaged product at various relative humidity conditions are
given in Table 1.

7.2 A condensation risk analysis should be carried out prior to use of the product.
8 Resistance to mechanical damage

8.1 The product has satisfactory resistance to damage and will resist the minor movements likely to occur in service
without damage.
8.2 Where large relative movements between construction elements are possible, such as in timber-frame
construction, the advice of the Certificate holder should be sought.
9 Properties in relation to fire

The product, spray-applied to a 12 mm thick calcium silicate panel of density 870 kg·m3, achieved a reaction-to-fire
classification of E to BS EN 13501-1 : 2007.
10 Adhesion
10.1 The product has satisfactory adhesion to the following substrates:
 concrete
 lightweight concrete block
 red brick
 aluminium
 steel
 wood
 plaster
 EPDM membrane
 PVC-U.
10.2 The adhesion on other substrates should be confirmed by test.
11 Maintenance
As the product is confined within the structure and has suitable durability (see section 12), maintenance is not required.
However, any damage to the membrane should be repaired before enclosing into the structure (see section 15).
12 Durability
Under normal conditions of use, the product has satisfactory durability and will have a life equal to that
of the element onto which it is installed.

Installation
13 General
13.1 Installation of Blowerproof Liquid must be in accordance with the Certificate holder’s instructions.
13.2 Surfaces must be free from salt efflorescence, dust and other loose particles, or any other contamination that
could affect the adhesion of the product. The product can be applied to lightly damp surfaces but must not be applied
where there is standing water.
13.3 Existing holes and cracks must be sealed with a cementitious filler or polyurethane spray foam. Small holes and
cracks up to 5 mm can be sealed with Blowerproof Liquid Brush.
13.4 The product must not be applied when the air or substrate temperature is <5°C.
14 Procedure
14.1 The product is applied to the prepared substrate using airless spray equipment at a pressure of between 120 and
150 bar or a long-haired paint roller in two or more passes, to achieve a wet film thickness of between 800 and
1000 µm.
14.2 The applied coating thickness should be checked using a wet film gauge and the application checked for complete
coverage.
14.3 The drying time will depend on the substrate as well as the ambient temperature and relative humidity. Typically,
the product will be dry 24 to 48 hours after application.
15 Repair
Any damaged coating must be repaired prior to enclosure. Minor damage to the dry product can be repaired by
reapplying the product over the damaged area, as described in sections 14.1 and 14.2. Where major damage has
occurred, the damaged section must be cut out and the membrane reapplied, ensuring a minimum 50 mm overlap onto
sound material.

17.1 An assessment was made of test reports from independent test laboratories, relating to:
 reaction to fire
 air permeability
 adhesion to substrates
 water vapour resistance

17.2 A visit was made to an established installation in Belgium to witness airtightness testing and to assess the
product’s performance in service. The assessed building was an office building that was tested at the end of the
construction phase and after three years, meeting the passive house requirements for air permeability in both cases.
17.3 The manufacturing process was evaluated, including the methods adopted for quality control, and details were
obtained of the quality and composition of the materials used.

and/or fabrication, including all related and relevant parts and processes thereof:
 are maintained at or above the levels which have been assessed and found to be satisfactory by the BBA
 continue to be checked as and when deemed appropriate by the BBA under arrangements that it will determine
 are reviewed by the BBA as and when it considers appropriate.
18.4 The BBA has used due skill, care and diligence in preparing this Certificate, but no warranty is provided.
18.5 In issuing this Certificate the BBA is not responsible and is excluded from any liability to any company, firm,
organisation or person, for any matters arising directly or indirectly from:

concerning the duration of validity of a classification report.
Provisions of Regulation (EU) 305/2011, commonly known as the Construction Products

Regulation (CPR), prevail over any conflicting provisions in the harmonised standards and
technical specifications.
5. WARNING
This classification report does not represent type approval nor certification of the product.
According to the information mentioned by the sponsor on the technical information sheet
there was no product standard for CE marking available at the time the classification
report for the tested material/product was drafted.
When such a product standard is published, this report may be submitted again to the
laboratory to evaluate the adequacy of the report for CE marking.

e) Uncertainty of measurement
Regarding the precision of the test method, at the present time we have insufficient
information to make a considerate statement regarding the uncertainty of measurement. The
uncertainty of test results for this test report is described in Annex B of the test standard.
As this annex only covers generic products and as we know at this moment that the
uncertainty can be influenced by the nature of the product in the test, the values in Annex B
can only give an indication of the actual uncertainty of the tests described in this report.

On 01/09/2016, a 5 kg bucket of the product 'BLOWERPROOF LIQUID BRUSH' with batch number L 2308618
has been sampled and delivered by the demander (place and time of the sampling unknown).
The delivered product was applied by the demander on the reference support in 2 layers, in accordance with
the instructions of the product’s instructions for use.
The layers were applied in standard conditions (23 ± 2°C and 50 ± 5 % RH). The first layer has been applied
on 01/09/2016 and the second one on 02/09/2016.
In accordance with the instructions for use, the layers were applied by the demander with an airless sprayer.
The samples and the sealant have the laboratory number 5828.
Covering: - 1st and 2nd layer: 500 – 1000 g/m2 (according to the technical sheet).
Type of water impermeability product: waterborne water impermeability product

Manufacturer: Hevadex B.V.B.A.
Storage conditions between application of the product and the testing: standard conditions
(i.e. 23 ± 2°C, 50±5% RH).

Method: Test of small airflows through round hole, which is sharp edged and calibrated.
Test object
Description
The airtightness of a non-plastered masonry wall was tested. The outside of the wall was applied with
Blowerproof Liquid Brush and rigid insulation plates were anchored. The measurement was held on a
surface of 1,25m x 0,75m (= 0,94m²). The measured surface was covered with plastic foil and the edges
of the plastic foil were taped with airtight Tescon Vana tape (6cm).
The measurement took place on the building site of nv Van Wellen, Elshoutbaan 15 - Brasschaat 2930.

Check the vital functions. Unconscious: maintain adequate airway and respiration. Respiratory arrest: artificial respiration or oxygen. Cardiac arrest: perform
resuscitation. Victim conscious with laboured breathing: half-seated. Victim in shock: on his back with legs slightly raised. Vomiting: prevent
asphyxia/aspiration pneumonia. Prevent cooling by covering the victim (no warming up). Keep watching the victim. Give psychological aid. Keep the victim
