Inclusion of diversity in schools

Inclusion should be considered as a basic human condition, and its concept implies
that the school should be prepared to include children who have some kind of
malfunction. The child must be integrated in a place prepared for him, responding to
his special educational needs, so the school is defined as a place for diversity.

In an inclusive school, the challenge is to optimize the child’s quality of life using a
functional perspective. It is necessary that these academic institutions profoundly
transform the educational systems (evaluations), focusing on classroom learning and
not disguise the limitations of the students, because they are real and must be
assumed to be able to face them.

Adding that the schools that provide inclusive education focus on problem-solving
and are aimed at education in general (for all students), its principles are equity,
cooperation and solidarity, and the most remarkable thing is that the insertion is total
and unconditional.

It is important to know that there is a difference between inclusive and integrative

schools, since the integrative ones consist in that the child who is different from the
majority is the one who must integrate the school, without the presence of the
profound academic changes mentioned above.

Inclusión a la diversidad en colegios

La inclusión debe ser considerada como una condición básica de los humanos, y su
concepto implica que la Escuela debe estar preparada para incluir a los niños que
tengan algún tipo de alteración en su funcionamiento. El niño al momneto de
integrarse al ambito educativo, se debe integrar en un lugar preparado para él,
respondiendo a sus necesidades educativas especiales, por tanto la escuela se
define como un lugar para la diversidad.

En una escuela inclusiva el reto es optimizar la calidad de vida del niño utilizando
una perspectiva funcional. Es necesario que estas instituciones académicas
transforme profundamente los sistemas educativos (evaluaciones), enfocado en el
aprendizaje en el aula y que no disfrace las limitaciones de los alumnos, porque
ellas son reales y se deben asumir para poder afrontarlas.

Agregando que los colegios que brindan la modalidad inclusiva, se centran en la

resolución de los problemas, está dirigida a la educación en general (para todos los
alumnos), sus principios son la equidad, cooperación y solidaridad, y lo más
destacable es que la inserción es total e incondicional.

Es importante saber que existe la diferencia entre las escuelas inclusivas e

integrativas, ya que las integrativas consisten en que es el niño diferente el que
debe integrarse a la escuela, sin la presencia de las profundas modificaciones
academicas mencionadas anteriormente.
