Las reacciones adversas en el paciente con infección por VIH tienen una
gran relevancia por varios motivos: las reacciones adversas leves son
frecuentes y disminuyen la calidad de vida del paciente (náuseas, cefalea,
diarrea...) y, por otro lado, las reacciones adversas graves pueden provocar
el ingreso hospitalario y en algunos casos pueden hacer peligrar la vida del
paciente (acidosis láctica, esteatosis hepática, pancreatitis, exantema
grave...).

Antecedentes patológicos: neumonía por Pneumocistis carinii en tto. con
Septrin forte® 2 comp. c/8 h; Lederfolín® 1 comp. c/24 h durante 21 días. CV:
1.000.000 copias/mL; CD4: 30 células/mm3.

Revisar toda la medicación que reciben los pacientes con infección por VIH
para detectar posibles interacciones, ajustes de dosis (peso, insuficiencia
hepática, insuficiencia renal).
