Nació el 15 de abril de 1978 en San Juan (Puerto Rico).

Tiene dos hermanos menores, Jean y Tatiana . Con tan solo tres años
imitaba a los cantantes del grupo Menudo.

Se trasladó junto a su familia a Orlando (Florida), donde ingresó en la

escuela Dr. Phillips High School. Allí creó un grupo de música con
compañeros del instituto. Ingresó en la Universidad Estatal de Florida
para estudiar teoría, solfeo, apreciación musical, canto y composición.

La carrera de Fonsi comienza en el año 1998, cuando lanza su primer

disco, Comenzaré. Este álbum alcanza un gran éxito, situándose en el
top de ventas sobre todo en los países latinoamericanos, y logrando el
disco de oro.

En 2001 publica su segundo disco, Eterno, que logra el mismo éxito que
el primero y consigue también un disco de oro.

Fonsi sigue trabajando sobre nuevos discos pero también actúa

en televisión y actúa por todo el mundo. Después aparece el
disco Amor secreto, que unos meses después se lanzó también en
inglés con el título de Fight the Feeling, alcanzando un gran éxito
en Estados Unidos. A finales de 2003 se publicó Abrazar la vida, un
disco con ritmos más latinos.

Su tema La fuerza de mi corazón, formó parte de la banda original de la

película de dibujados animados El Cid. En 2005 publica Paso a paso.
En el año 2006 pone a la venta su primer disco de éxitos: Éxitos 98:06,
una recopilación de sus mejores canciones. En 2008 se publicó Palabras
del silencio, un disco que gozó del mismo éxito que los anteriores
álbumes.Tierra Firme, su nuevo álbum, fue estrenado el 28 de junio de
2011 tras año y medio de trabajo y tras escribir más de 125 canciones de
las que fueron seleccionas 10 para el disco. El 25 de marzo de 2014,
aparece su vídeoCorazón en la Maleta, primer sencillo de su nuevo
álbum al que se tituló 8, y que fue lanzado el 19 de mayo del mismo año.

El 30 de diciembre de 2004, después de 2 años de relación, se

comprometió con la actriz Adamari López. Al poco tiempo, Adamari
declaró que había sido diagnosticada con cáncer de seno. La pareja
contrajo matrimonio el 3 de junio de 2006 en la Iglesia San José de
Caparra en Puerto Rico. El 8 de noviembre de 2009, anunciaron su
separación. Después se relacionó con la modelo española Águeda
López, con la que tuvo a su hija Mikaela, nacida el 20 de diciembre de
2011. La niña fue bautizada el 1 de julio de 2012 en Córdoba, España, en
ceremonia privada. El 10 de septiembre de 2014, anunció a través de su
cuenta de Facebook que contrajo matrimonio con Águeda.

On December 30, 2004, after two years of relationship, committed to actress Adamari Lopez.
Soon, Adamari stated that he had been diagnosed with breast cancer. The couple married on June
3, 2006 in San José de Caparra Church in Puerto Rico. On November 8, 2009, they announced their
separation. Then he was related to the Spanish model Agueda Lopez, with whom he had a
daughter Mikaela, born on December 20, 2011. The child was baptized on July 1, 2012 in Cordoba,
Spain, in a private ceremony. On September 10, 2014, he announced through his Facebook
account that married Agueda.
