En Octubre del 2012, Malala tomó el autobús para ir a su escuela como en un día normal, ella

recordó que su mamá le dijo que ya era más grande y la gente la conocía, por lo que no debía de ir
caminando, si no en carro o en autobús para ir más segura, se sentó al lado de su amiga Moniba, y
empezaron a hablar acerca de sus exámenes, y todas las cosas que tenían que hacer, cuando Malala
notó algo extraño, la carretera parecía desierta; cerca de llegar a su escuela dos hombres pararon
el autobús y preguntaron quién era Malala, la amiga de Malala, pensaba que eran periodistas y sólo
querían una entrevista, hasta que vio la cara de temor de Malala, parecían estudiantes
universitarios, según recuerda Malala.

Los hombres comenzaron a disparar, y las balas llegaron al cuello y la cabeza de Malala, estuvo
hospitalizada en Peshawar primero y luego en Islamabad, su papá estaba muy preocupado se
estaba preparando para lo peor, su estado era crítico, sin embargo, fue una superviviente,
afortunadamente, en el último hospital al que la trasladaron Queen Elizabeth, en la ciudad de
Birmingham, Inglaterra se despertó de un coma inducido y se recuperó después de que los doctores
le implantaran una placa de titanio en un orificio en su cráneo, un aparato auditivo, también ella se
tuvo que someter a una cirugía reconstructiva.; pero, eso no fue todo porque su vida seguía en
peligro ya que los talibanes confirmaron que tenían la intención de matarla a ella, como a su padre,
Ziauddin. Hay algo que se necesita aclarar, los talibanes, decían que Malala no era un blanco por
promover la educación para la niñas, si no porque ellos pensaban que la estaban utilizando como
propaganda en contra del talibán.

fgTodo lo anterior causó que Malala recibiera mucho apoyo internacional, y también que un enviado
especial de las naciones unidas para la educación global (Gordon Brown), llevara una petición a la
ONU, con el slogan “Yo soy Malala” para exigir que todos los niños del mundo tuvieran derecho a la
escolarización.

In October of 2012, Malala took the bus to go to her school, like everyday. She started to remember
what her mom told her that day. She was growing up and the people around recognize her, so she
couldn´t go walking. She had to go in a car or in the bus to stay safe. Malala set down next to her
friend Moniba, and while they were talking about their exams and everything they had to do during
the week, Malala noticed something weird, the road was alone. Then, when the bus was near of the
school, two men stopped it. They looked like university students, and they were asking who was
Malala. Moniba, thought that they were journalists and they wanted an interview, until she saw her
friend’s face, she was scared. These men started shooting, and they did hurt Malala´s head and neck.

After the incedent, she was in three hospitals. Tthe first one was Peshawar, then the Islamab. Her
dad was very worried. He was expecting the worst, because Malala´s condition was critical. But then,
a miracle happened. In the last hospital she was, The Queen Elizabeth, she woke up from her critical
state. How did she manage to do that? Well, she recovered after the doctors put a titanium plate in
her skull, and a hearing aid. Also, she had to have a reconstructive surgery. She became a survivor.

After everything Malala had been through, she was still in danger, because the Taliban wanted to
kill her and her dad. And they said that their reason of doing that was not the girl´s education, but
the thought of Malala being against them.
After all, Malala received international support. Gordon Brown, a person from United Nations for
Global Education, presented a request with the slogan “I´m Malala” to demand that children of all
over the world, had the right to education.
