of the whole process. Companies should adopt these new technologies in their
work dynamics to make the supply chain more profitable and finally offer a better
service.
Pienso que el futuro para los canales de distribucin se enfoca hacia la tecnologa,
ya que la evolucin de las tcnicas de distribucin y las nuevas tecnologas est
facilitando la aparicin de nuevos modelos de contacto comercial.
Una de las innovaciones realizadas por los diferentes comercios son los llamados
cdigos QR, una tecnologa puntera hoy en da en el mundo de la distribucin,
creada para los clientes ms ocupados.
La empresa de supermercados TESCO los emplea en el metro de Corea de forma
muy prctica y original.
TESCO ide un sistema ingenioso y efectivo, que consisti en convertir las vallas
publicitarias del metro de Corea en lineales de supermercado por medio de la
colocacin de carteles.
Gracias a las aplicaciones mviles y a los cdigos QR, se puede hacer la compra
que luego te llevan a casa, con solo escanear los cdigos del artculo con tu
Smartphone. De este modo, crean supermercados virtuales.
Con esta idea de negocio, TESCO consigue adaptarse a los hbitos de los
consumidores, sorprenderles y diferenciarse de la competencia,
a mi parecer es un buen canal de distribucin ojala en unos aos se pueda
implementar en Colombia.
As a technologist in International Business, what do you think is the future of
distribution channels?
I think that the future for distribution channels is focused on technology, as the
evolution of distribution techniques and new technologies is facilitating the
emergence of new models of commercial contact.
One of the innovations made by the different merchants are the so-called QR
codes, a leading technology today in the world of distribution, created for the
busiest customers.
The supermarket company TESCO employs them in the Korean subway in a very
practical and original way. TESCO devised an ingenious and effective system,
which consisted of converting Korean subway billboards into supermarket lines by
placing posters.
Thanks to mobile applications and QR codes, you can make the purchase and
then take you home, just scan the article codes with your Smartphone. In this way,
they create virtual supermarkets.
With this business idea, TESCO is able to adapt to the habits of consumers,
surprise them and differentiate themselves from the competition, in my opinion is a
good channel of distribution hope that in a few years can be implemented in
Colombia.
