Speaking on the Telephone
Saludos
you been? (Hola qu tal?) o Nice to hear from you (Es agradable
puedes recurrir a: I'm just calling to... e introducir el tema. Por
ejemplo: I'm just calling to see if you'd like to set up a meeting (slo
llamado, pregunta: So what can I do for you? (qu puedo hacer por
Ud.?
let me confirm... o bien So, let me make sure I've got things
precisamente cmo terminarla. Es el momento de decir cosas como:
good luck on that interview (buena suerte en la entrevista) o hope
Si
quieres confirmar una cita: I'll see you on Friday, then (entonces
John, it's been a pleasure talking to you.
Llamadas telefnicas en el trabajo
Tu contestas:
"Certainly, Mr Jones. I'll just put you through."
o,
"Of course, Mr Jones. I'll just see if she's available. Please, hold
the line."
"Mr Jones? Thank you for holding. I'm just putting you through
to Mrs Langdon."
"May I have your name, please?"
"Thank you."
"Would you like to leave a message? I'll make sure she gets it
as soon as she comes in"
"If you'd like to give me your number, I'll ask her to call you
back."
"The country code for the UK is double four. The area code is 0,
three, five, nine." (Am.
"Is there anything else I can help you with, Mr Jones?"
"No, that's all, thank you. Thank you very much, you've been
very helpful."
Notas
is...", "This is...", "It's...", pero nunca: "I'm...".
