Debido a la gran oferta teatral de los ltimos
aos, el nmero de espacios que ofrecen una
cartelera de espectculos en forma permanen-
te, tambin ha aumentado.
Como una manera de dar a conocer estos
espacios e invitar al pblico chileno y extran-
jero a asistir a las diversas actividades teatrales
que se realizan en la capital, nace la iniciativa
conjunta de las salas de teatro de Santiago de
publicar su informacin en una gua bilinge,
la que permitir entre otros, generar cruces de
audiencias entre las diferentes salas, introducir
el mercado teatral dentro de la oferta turstica y
potenciar el trabajo en red.
Este importante proyecto comienza con la ela-
boracin de la primera gua impresa de salas de
teatro de Santiago, un material que cuenta con
informacin de las principales salas de teatro
de la capital en ingls y espaol, en una primera
edicin de 20.000 ejemplares.
Gracias al apoyo del Consejo Nacional de la
Cultura y las Artes, esta iniciativa es el primer
paso para la puesta en marcha de la Red de
Salas de Teatro - Santiago de Chile, que espera
ver la luz durante el ao 2012 y que signica-
r, entre otras muchas actividades, la primera
estrategia de marketing asociado del teatro en
Chile.
Due to the great quantity of theatric works in
the last years, it has increased the number of
theaters that offer a permanent performance
planning.
This bilingual publication has emerged as an
agreement among the theater managers in or-
der to publicize these places and invite Chilean
and Foreigner audiences to attend the different
theatrical activities of Santiago, and also to let
them know about the theater information and
facilities. This guide will mainly allow the mem-
bers of the audience can circulate among the
different stages, and also includes theater as a
tourist activity and promotes the networking in
the theatric eld.
This important project begin with this guide,
a rst printed map of the theater center of
Santiago that contains information about the
principal performance stages in English and
Spanish, with 20.000 free magazines.
With the support of the CNCA (National Culture &
Arts Counsil), this guide is the rst step to imple-
ment the theater networking Santiago of Chile,
which is going to start in 2012 and it will represent
the rst marketing work of the Chilean theater.

Teatro Aparte is the playhouse of one of the most
remarkable theater companies of the country. Since
1985, this company has been working in group
creations which encourage thinking over about what
characterized Chilean people according to each ge-
neration. In this place, are rather performed their own
performances and also private events.
Teatro Bellavista es un cmodo teatro que ofrece
distintas propuestas teatrales privilegiando la calidad
de los espectculos y sus elencos.
Bellavista Theater is a comfortable theater which
offers different theatric proposals, favoring the quality
of performances and their cast.

Teatro del Puente, ubicado sobre el ro Mapocho, es el ni-
co teatro del mundo emplazado sobre un puente. Declarado
Monumento Histrico Nacional en 1997, tiene como misin

the main cultural corporations of the region, and it
is home of independent theater plays and art exhibi-

Teatro La Memoria es una sala para 100 especta-
dores que acoge preferentemente las produccio-
nes de los docentes del Centro de Investigacin
Teatral La Memoria, dirigido por Alfredo Castro.
Su programacin privilegia investigaciones es-

material textual comprometido y elaborar nuevas
poticas estticas.
La Memoria Theater is a small theater with capa-

mtico en el que funcionaron el Teatro de Ensayo de
la Universidad Catlica y El Aleph. Hoy, es una matriz
de investigacin y experimentacin para las nuevas

Es la sede del Teatro Nacional Chileno, fundado en
1941 como Teatro Experimental de la Universidad
de Chile, primera compaa universitaria del pas. Su
programacin incluye anualmente teatro joven, po-

programas de extensin, funciones a estudiantes,

It is the Chilean National Theater that was founded
in 1941 as the Teatro Experimental of the Chile
University Drama School, which is the rst university
company of the country. The program yearly includes

University of Chile, DETUCH is an institution that has
become in the oldest place of the country for tea-
ching, creation, research and extension of theater.
They accept productions of emergent, professio-
nal, national and international companies, and also
students works.
Creada en el ao 2005 para recibir artistas de teatro,
danza y msica de la escena nacional e internacio-
nal. Es un espacio de concepcin contempornea,
tanto por su diseo como por su capacidad de
transformacin espacial, donde adems se realizan
seminarios y charlas que son parte de la programa-
cin anual.
It was founded in 2005 to receive theater, dance
and music artists, from the national and international
scene. It is a space of a contemporary conception,

Nace con la necesidad de abrir un nuevo espacio
para la escena y cartelera teatral capitalina, ofre-
ciendo una variada gama de espectculos pen-
sados para un pblico transversal. Su norte es
convertir la asistencia al teatro en una experiencia
entretenida y reexiva en torno al arte y la cultura.
It starts in order to open a new space for the stage
and theater program of the capital, offering a wide
range of performances intended for a cross audien-
ce. Its aim is to convert the theater attendance in
an enjoyable and thoughtful experience about art
and culture.
En los 50 y 60 gran parte de la actividad teatral se concentraba en los teatros universitarios. El
Teatro de Ensayo de la Universidad Catlica tuvo como sede la sala Camilo Henrquez, que reabri

Existe desde el ao 2002, ubicado dentro de la Universidad Arcis. Tiene capacidad para
240 espectadores. Dentro de su cartelera destacan los montajes de egreso de la escuela y
aquellas obras profesionales que participan de los Festivales de Otoo y Primavera organi-
zados cada ao por el Departamento de extensin.
It was created in 2002 and is located inside of Arcis University. It has a capacity of 240 spec-
tators. Among its program stands out the graduation work of the Drama School and those
professional plays that participates in the Fall and Spring Festivals that are organized every
year by the Extension Department.

M100 nace el 2001 para administrar el Centro
Cultural instalado en las antiguas bodegas de la
Direccin de Abastecimiento del Estado. Cuenta
con numerosos espacios para la promocin de las
artes escnicas, donde destacados directores y ac-
tores de teatro, han mostrado su arte. El ao 2007
suma tres nuevos espacios, entre ellos uno dedica-
do al Teatro Callejero
M100 stars in 2001 to manage the Cultural Center
located in the old warehouse of the Government
Supplies Agency. It has a lot of spaces for the deve-
lopment of performing arts where well-known drama
directors and artist have shown their art. In 2007,
three new spaces were added; one of them was de-
dicate it to the Street Theater.

Desde 1943, el Teatro UC ha sido un espacio de
creacin que combina las exigencias de un teatro
profesional con los compromisos universitarios. Sus
producciones incluyen textos clsicos, una lnea de-
dicada al teatro familar y proyectos de formacin de
audiencias como cuadernillos, encuentros y funcio-
nes para estudiantes.
Since 1943, the Catholic University Theater has been
a place of creation that combines the professional
theater demands with the students requirements.
Their productions include classical works and it has
an area dedicated to family theater and a project fo-
cus on audience generation as booklet of the play,
encounters and special performances for students.
Organizacin independiente de larga trayectoria en
gestin educacional, cultural y artstica. Desde 2004
y sin subvencin alguna asume la restauracin de
esta hermosa sala, destacndose ahora por su apo-
yo a compaas emergentes y en propuestas esc-
nicas de contenido universal que va desarrollando
con su propia compaa teatral.
It is an independent organization with a long expe-
rience in educational, cultural and artistic manage-
ment. Since 2004 and with no subvention it takes
charge of the restoration of this beautiful theater, and
now it stands out by its support to emerging compa-
nies and also because of its performing proposals
of universal contents that are performed by its own
theater company.

It is headquarters of Gran Circo Teatro, an important

its own plays, produce different encounters, program
theatric workshops and also it has a museum oriented
to share the history of this emblematic Chilean group.

la celebracin del Centenario de la Repblica.
Patrimonio nacional y denominado el municipal
chico, en su arquitectura barroca se grab parte
de la franja electoral del NO, en contra de la dic-
tadura. Actualmente desarrolla eventos y activi-
dades culturales.

against of dictatorship. Nowadays, it programs cul-

primer gol del pueblo chileno de Roberto Matta y la Brigada Ramona Parra, que fuera
donado a la comuna en 1971 y censurado por la dictadura militar. Acoge propuestas
artsticas de diversos tipos y posee modernas instalaciones.

Centro de funcionamiento de la compaa
de body percusin Teatro Phi, que ofrece
funciones una vez al mes en sus depen-
dencias. Ubicado en un lugar clsico de
Santiago Antiguo ha sido tambin usado
para ensayar por compaas emergentes y
algunas muy importantes como la Royal de
Luxe y Andrs Perez.
It is the working center of the Body
Percussion Phi Theater Company, and
once a month performances are offered in
their premises. It is located in a classic pla-
ce of the old Santiago and it is been used
for emerging companies rehearsals, some
of them very important like the Royal de
Luxe and Andrs Perez.
Es una sala de barrio que funciona como caf y
teatro con capacidad para 50 personas, programa
obras que centren su creatividad en lo ldico y lo pe-
daggico transmitiendo valores de respeto, proacti-
vidad y desarrollo humano.
It is a neighborhood playhouse that is used as a ca-
feteria and theater, that holds 50 people. It program
plays that are merely recreational and learning crea-
tivity, passing on respect, pro activity and human de-
velopment values.
